Ron so sorry your now feeling well. I hope you will be ok from the bee sting.
I did not know you could have a delayed reaction to the sting.

One of our grandson's got a chicken pox shot and ever since he get's a bump here and there and it goes away after a few minutes but it's been going on for over a week now and he still keeps getting the bumps. That is just crazy!

Thanks! The rash is going away and is almost gone now.

The article I read said this is a rare reaction, something like 3 percent occurrence. Look, I am in the top three percent of something!

Morning everyone

thank you to everyone's well wishes and sympathy for my less than graceful acrobatics. No permanent damage done except to my pride.
How about all this crazy weather??? Up here it's great on the heat bill and the chickens are loving it (especially my couple of less than fully dressed ladies still growing in their new feathers). They were throwing such a fit yesterday that I had to give in and let them back into the herb garden that I HAD put to bed for the winter. Now I must get in there and put all the cover hay back where it belongs. Thought they would leave that alone and just dig in the beds.

All you busy, amazingly talented folks are making me feel like a lazy bum so;
I had bought some great new netting to go over the main run. a bit pricy but much stronger than what I have up now (just over the brooder area) and it has larger openings so it should be much better with handling the snow. This new netting is also easier to cut to fit and not quite as stretchy so I should be able to get it up in a day. Oh, and no more clothespins for attaching to the fence, I also ordered a 1000 little zip ties. (The other ends will be stapled to the top of the coop). Anyway, this was my work plan for today but I just saw the weather report is for "breezy" (around here sustained winds of 25+ is considered breezy) which is not great for wrestling with netting so I guess I'll stop procrastinating and drag out the Christmas decorations. I promised DH that I would thin them out this year and donate some to the senior thrift store. I have everything STUFFED under and around the bed in the spare bedroom (aka my craft room, chick/chicken infirmary room, deer hunters' bedroom, etc.). Since I no longer can use the excuse of "I'm still to sore to crawl under there and drag out boxes" I might as well get it over with

Just a word from someone who is now sadly wiser. Make sure your diamond mount is 6 prong and not 4 and make sure your home owners insurance has a provision for loss or damage.

Last year I lost a diamond out of one of my rings. It's not lost. It's somewhere on the farm....just don't know where.DH laughs and says one of the chickens probably ate it for grit. Insurance wouldn't cover the loss (DH thought it had coverage) which was substantial. It was a 4 prong mount that had been repaired once and the jeweler swore it would hold under my particular degree of abuse on the ring. Well, it didn't. My engagement ring came off and is no longer being worn,just my wedding band. I get physically ill every time I think about it.

I like to warn people about the failure rate of 4 prong settings. Don't believe what they tell you. They can fail.
