The Old Folks Home

Not much here yet, only a few inches but definitely nothing is going to melt, sigh. Actually with the cold we've been having and no sign of it breaking anytime soon, I hope we get a decent snow to insulate the foundation so the floors will warm up and to lay down a nice blanket on the ground otherwise we are going to have a ridiculous frost depth.
Same here. Haven't had decent snow coverage for several years. Sure makes for deep slow to release frost ... and squishy clay mud in spring that can't dry out.

Nope. Not exactly. He's looking to see if I ordered the torque wrench he wanted, as his Christmas gift. He's looked everywhere, under the guise of doing something nice for me, but he can't find his Christmas present.
:gigEnjoy it while it lasts. Figure out somewhere you want organized and make it look like MAYBE you've hidden something in there.

Always look for the simplest to fix problem first, then work up the ladder.
Good plan! Twice the GFI breaker on the outlet for the washing machine has tripped. NO idea why, there is nothing else on that circuit.

That's actually what happened. We didn't have the cords set up properly yet, I opened the front door and the door caught on the cord and yanked it out of the side of the house, ripping most of the outlet out with it.
Um, someone didn't install that outlet very well.

For all you who are south of me (which is everyone I guess...lol) and who are cold/receiving snow...this is what we've got right now. Below is a pic from my yard this morning facing east.

Below is a pic from here at the farm facing north. The most snow we see is in this pic in the yard. All of our snow has melted away, there's just a bit in the ditches and our lanes are icy. It's above 0 again today. Our week is supposed to hover between 28-36 this week. We'll take it! :clap It's a bit strange, but if this lasted until spring, there'd be no complaints here. The chickens are loving it.:wee

We had a couple of quilts that my husband's grandmother made decades ago, that got degraded by sunlight. There's no way to replace them, since she died before I even saw the quilts. Art that is meant to hang on the wall is easy to preserve; the kind meant to be used is harder. I can't tell you how many hours I put into a quilt for our bed, was I supposed to tell my husband he couldn't lie on it? Yeah, it got destroyed, too.

It's nice when someone treats something you created like a treasure, but you can't expect it. It's hard to put a price on your heart and soul; which is why a lot of talented people aren't professional artists, I suppose.:idunno

What do you carve, Chicki?

The hearts out of men.

That's the story of this whole house.

I'd rather they be used, honestly. One that's well worn is loved.
