My one thing here is we sit at the table to eat and talk how was your day? what you planning?

I think there is a relatively small charge to take old appliances away but yes they will install for free. But when I got a new dryer from HD a few months ago, I told them not to install it. They won't use the existing cord even if there is nothing wrong with it. They charge $20-$25 for the cord.

Those cookies look good @chickadoodles
This is what it would cost to have the dishwasher installed:

I did pay to have the old one hauled away

Tudy (the mascot) was just to see if it would work.

These are amazingly well done. I love them. :love

The wood burnings are also incredible. Y'all are some talented ladies.

And Ron, I'll be making your rolls this coming weekend. I work the entire weekend (48 hours' worth) but I'm off Monday (BF works those 24 hours). Godmother and puppy get here Tuesday. I'll try and prep the rolls Monday night.

They were a big hit at work yesterday. It amazes them that I bake stuff there. We do not have a kitchen in Voorhies Hall. It was built in 1960 so it is as old as I am.

One note, I doubled the cinnamon in the recipe to two teaspoons

$129 to install a replacement dishwasher??:th
What do they expect to do, run the plumbing and electric to the cabinet before sliding the dishwasher in, putting in 2 screws and connecting the water, drain and power?? Many dishwashers have a regular plug. In fact the plumbers put in an outlet specifically for that. The stupid Bosch has a special junction box you have to use so I had to run a feed from the designated outlet to that JBox. Even with that it didn't take an hour.

I saw a sign by the road the other day - "Any appliance installed for $100". I was laughing at that! Your dishwasher people think they get paid $250/hour? Pretty much they must not want to do it so they make it more than people are willing to pay and screw those who have no choice.

The price included parts but those are not that much and I did not need parts.

Crazy how much thy want for stuff. Amazon wants to add installation sometimes when I order stuff. It is often three times the cost of the item!

I should have stood in bed....sigh.

Got ready this morning and drove to town for groceries, stopped at the bank, got out of the car, looked around to check a tire that DH had repaired a slow leak in a couple of weeks ago and crap, it's low again. Ran into the bank, back out, it looks the same so I think okay, I can limp it home it can do 7.5 miles if I go slow. So I'm limping it home at 25-30mph. Get half way and hear that ominous lub lub lub lub coming from the rear right tire when I pick up a bit of speed going down a hill. Heard that sound before and realize at that point in time that it wasn't the old slow leak but a new leak and a bad one. Make it the rest of the way home going 20. Longest 3 miles of my life. Pull up the drive way, stop, get out and look at my now flat tire. DH hears me, can't figure out how I got home so soon so I show him.

Needless to say neither one of us were happy campers at that point. The slow leak he had repaired two weeks ago was caused by a horse shoe nail....go figure. It was intact. This new hole is huge. About 3/4s an inch long and a half inch wide. What I hit is a mystery. Saw nothing in the road but there are several Amish businesses along the way on our gravel road and one is a machine shop so not unusual to find bolts and the like near the road.

So add a set of new tires to the 'get' list. Why does it always happen right before a holiday?:idunnoLuckily the spare is good.....old but good. My car is a 1985 old school Mercedes turbo diesel. Seems as though the spare is the original that came with the car. OOPS! We just got antique license plates for it it. Didn't know the spare was an antique also.

Oh well, hope tomorrow is better. I did manage to get one of the coops mostly cleaned out and made plans to enlarge the roosters run space so the day wasn't a total loss. Oh, I did get groceries after switching vehicles.

Sometimes I think the Amish have a good idea. Horse shoes are cheaper than tires.
