The Old Folks Home

We have snow shoes....also have skis. We were hoping for enough snow to do some cross country skiing tomorrow but the wind picked up by late morning here and moved the 3 inches we got all around the place.

We'll take any snow y'all don't want, just figure out a way to get it to Missouri!

Here you go Cap. I took these last week to show one of the people at the optometrist's in Northampton. She did my original vision therapy starting in early 2007. She used to have chickens and we chatted about that. Told her about the current flock and she wanted to see them, so I took some of the alpacas as well.

The brown and white one is Laddie, the black one is Teddy.

Sound like boys, no girls? I was supposed to get Larry the Llama from a rescue when we moved to TN but it fell through. Then DH decided i really didn't need one...

Got wind chills heading for us in the sub zeros for next week but cold and snow aren't strangers to DH and me. He was raised in WI and I was raised in central IL.

A week ago we had temps near 60. It's just a freaking shock to have it turn so cold so fast.
Did i mention that i was born in NY, lived there until i was 17? And then i moved to Nova Scotia for college. I had my fill of cold and snow. Stayed until Dec. 1992, then moved to FL.

That poor dog. 20 is our heat wave.

Left the snow we got Friday night on the ground. The ice we got yesterday was about a third of an inch and it was amazing to have the snow under it. Snowblowing it was strange had to break through then be careful the ice chunks didn't fly back atcha.

But it isn't slick on the ground now.

This is tonight.

Got the snowblower gassed up.
Good thing you are ready!

I would never be ready for that!

Cute!

It seems wrong to see them in the snow though...
