Thanks! Which is why i love going to fabric stores. Sometimes they get one bolt of fabric and that is it. If you miss it, you are out of luck.

I'm sure they thought some huge wild animal dressed in a fleece lined camo coat with a bear head was going to kill and eat them all.

I think the alpacas have the same opinion of me in my insulated Carhartt coveralls with the hood up. And they aren't too certain even when I take the hood off.

Still around -15 but felt much better since the sun is finally shining.

Yep, "too cold to snow" usually means sun.

The fresh I had put out earlier this morning was already frozen so I surrendered and hooked up the big heated waterer for them.

I think (no I'm SURE) I would have had that waterer plugged in about 45°F earlier.

I spent most of the afternoon and evening looking for iron on embroidery patterns that I can use to make dish towels. The ones that you can get at Orscheln's and sometimes TSC that are the white cotton material. I want to make up a bunch and give as gifts next year. I remember being about 18 and an elderly lady giving me a set to put in my 'hope chest'. Now that I'm an old lady myself I thought it was time to carry on the tradition.

What is it about freezing sub zero temperatures that brings out the artsy fartsy genes in us ladies anyway?

I found the 'Aunt Martha's' line, made a list then it was OH LOOK! Iron On Quilt patterns to embroider. So I made another list.

Finally gave up about 9 with a growing list in hand. Either I can order them on line, find them on FleaBay or stop in at Wally World.

It's 2 degrees outside right now. Looking at -6 tonight. Checked all the windows in the coops for drafts. My four boys in one coop were cuddled together on the roost. The standard roosters and hens were grabbing a fast snack and the bantams recognized me, mainly because I made sure to wear a coat that the little pea brains were familiar with and left my 'bear' hat inside.

The dogs aren't even anxious to go outside at the moment and frankly I don't blame them.

Oh, i love those old style hankies! Man, i spend too much time on BYC! I used to read a lot. Now i have 4 books out from the library and i haven't read them and they are due tomorrow! My kindle is collecting dust!

and sad too... I used to love to read. Eyes aren't what they once were and I just no longer make the time to sit down with a good book. Have never had a kindle or tablet and doubt I ever will. Don't like doing a lot of reading on a computer screen, something about the feel of the book in my hands.

The kindle is not lit like a computer screen, more like a book. Love mine and i do like real books.
