Yesterday morning it was 18* with the wind chill at 13* and the holding tank for the well froze! I hope it is not froze today cuz dh is at work.
Today with the wind chill it is 9*! This is way to cold for Alabama!

At least we are able to deal with it here. We don't like it but we are equipped.
Bout froze all my dangly bits off this morning going from the car to the door.

I agree you are equipped and used to dealing with the freezing temps.
Alabama is not. These arctic blast's are hard on us and our livestock.

We will have single digit (F) daytime highs through Friday, with negative nighttime temps. After that, daytime temps bounce around with snow forecast for days the temps get above 20F (3 1/2 days out of 10). The chickens are tired of being in the coop. On days I've opened the pop door, they look out at the snow and turn around. This has been a long frigid spell for us. Cold we are used to, frigid belongs farther north!

Hey, not nice!!! We got our share of frigid, don't wish us any worse! Unless you mean by north, like Hudson Bay north. Yep, send it all back up to Hudson Bay, sorry Canada.
We've got the same balmy -22 as SCG this morning with the similar problems with our dangly bits . My poor puppy too. She goes outside to do her business and she freezes up, poor baby. We have to go fetch her and carry her back inside. Our rescue kitty hasn't even tried to scoot out the door. (we know he must have been outside because when we brought him home he still had the smell of car grease on the back of his head) He goes near the door when we let the pup out, sniffs the air and then makes a beeline for his warm room. Smart kitty.

I don't even want to discuss the un-Floridalike weather we're having this year. At least the rain/mist stopped, but the high winds are still horrible.

I'm used to really cold temps and dangerous windchills but, don't bounce back at 70 like I did when younger. Day after day of the same, really drains my batteries. I'm sure others in the same boat, even young'uns are adversely affected.

Woke up to a brisk 14º this morning, heading for a balmy 36. For this part of the world, that's beastly COLD! Forecast says things will be like this for the next few days; for a bit of variety, they are throwing the "s-word" in for tomorrow. That is something that hardly ever happens, and I joke that if they say it, it won't. We'll see (if we haven't all frozen to death before then)
