You folks up New England way have hurricanes, but they come in the winter and are called Noreasters... Don't know if they reach into your part of NY, but then NY has those nice arctic blasts and lake effect snows.

The lake effect/ 'Noreasters' rarely effect us but they always warn and report on them, many feet of snow up north Buffalo region. Sometimes do hit us, feet of snow, I'd rather have the cold and not much snow. Feet of snow sucks way worse IMHO. Not being able to drive or even get out of your house snow half or 3/4+ the way up your doors, is way worse then cold, ain't that right SCG?

yeah... having to shovel to exit the house is all fun and games for a few days.... but then it gets OLD.

That's why normally we don't have really hard winters out here.. It is cold now but above freezing no snow no rain just cold enough to wear winter clothes and wool socks
