The Old Folks Home

I just had to re-shovel the several inches from today that filled in all the shoveling I did yesterday. Suppose to add more on Thursday night thru Saturday. But still better than mowing the lawn, pulling weeds et al.
Not me, i prefer spring over winter.

We had sun all day. Got about an inch and a half of snow overnight. Just enough to fresh up the dusting we had. They are calling for more this weekend.

Weird thing that happened. We have a 2005 Econoline van that we have had for over ten years and has caused us very little trouble. Today we went out to discover the driver side window down and frozen. Neither of us left it open or opened it. Best we can figure is that the cold somehow got tot he mechanism and somehow a plastic part gave way, dropping the window. Maybe a little moisture got into the system. We spent most of the day trying to figure out how to get the window back up. We got the inner panel taken apart and suspect that one of the cables broke where it attaches to the mechanism. Great. Got the window half up, threw a tarp over the rest of the opening and are going to wait till the weather breaks in order to take it apart and see what it is going to take to get it put back together again.

This winter just keeps getting better and better.....NOT.

We used to have a Dodge Lancer with power windows. The window went up and down by moving a nylon strip with gears in it. Living in He##(as in hot as He##) here, things made of plastic do not last. I must have changed that thing out 4 times over they years. I kept a spare for it in the house.
