The Old Folks Home

14,15yrs ago? I made the mistake of asking DW when our anniversary was, cause I didn't want to forget. WOW! did that tick her off, wouldn't tell me and wouldn't talk to me, said something about it being the most important day of our lives (I was unaware at the time) geez, we hadn't even celebrated one yet, it was our first. I had to dig around for our marriage certificate when she wasn't around.
That yr she gave me a birthday card, I kept it, sits on a shelf in the garage. Was a big beer mug, said 'for the husband that love's his beer' opened it up and it said 'and his wife' had a beer coaster in it said 'dates to remember' had our anniversary date, valentines day date, and her birthday. Lol

Few yrs ago we went to Florida for a week. Couple days after our anniversary (was in the middle of that week) I told her she was pretty pathetic.
What,why?,
You forgot our anniversary....
OMG! you did too!! I said no I didn't, was just waiting to see if you'd remember.
BS! she said, you just remembered!!
Lol, guess they ain't as important anymore :gig

@Peep_Show, congratulations and best wishes on your anniversary.

It looks like you are a keeper also to have made it 19 years. DH and I will be celebrating #11 in April. He's a keeper too!
Ours is in May... #40!

I have too many anniversarys that my husband keeps up with... We started dating March 30th 2011, then September (can't remember what day) was the "contract day" (inside joke), then we actually got married December 1st 2(?) years ago.

Makes me think of the scene in "Jaws," where the men are showing off their various scars and trying to one up each other.
Ooops, sorry guys  TMI. Didn't mean to get so "chatty". Guess I need to stay away from my keyboard when I've had too much coffee and get bored.
I sincerely apologize to you Perchie, didn't mean to sound like I was trying to "one up" your very real suffering. Just thought that you being a horse person too you would get a kick out of some of my less than stellar escapades. (an aparently lame attempt to cheer you up)
I really didn't mean to offend anyone.

My parents had been married many years, and one day my mom looked at my dad, and informed him he had forgotten their anniversary that day. My dad looked at her, and said their anniversary had already passed, and it was last week. He told her she forgot too, and she agreed. My grandmother shook her head, and told them that neither of them knew their dang anniversary, since it was a week away. My grandmother was right!

I don't think anyone was offended @chickisoup !!!!!!

DH used to do a lot of photography and has all the stuff from back when you did your own developing and enlarging and the like in your own dark room. One of the left overs from that era is a huge sink that he used to rinse prints once they were done developing.
Used to do that job with X-rays at the Vet's office in college. Something else learning to do things blind.

Doesn't help they will no longer let them cross a road.
That's just stupid. Where are the pop out stop signs? Flashing lights? Bar that comes out in front of the bus so no kids are in the driver's forward blind spot.

I bet it is still illegal to pass a stopped school bus too, even though no kids are crossing the road, isn't it.

then we actually got married December 1st 2(?) years ago.
Us TOO! Except it was 27 years ago. My parents had gotten married on 12/1 as well. They divorced when I was 11. Didn't get married until I was 34 but asked both Mom and Dad if it would bother them that we were getting married on their "woulda been" anniversary. Not planned for that reason, just the most convenient Saturday between my younger sister's second daughter due in October and my older sister's second child due in March. None of that would have been an issue if we didn't live 2,500 miles as the crow flies from both of them.
