Well, who would pay full price for non-living chicks after all? I mean it's only right that they discount them... Gosh folks... let's be reasonable huh?

I just got an email from Murray McMurray's. One of the pictures is a box of darling yellow chicks, probably little pullets and in the corner is a single little black chick with it's eyes closed and what looks like the start of a tiny but prominent comb. I just showed it to my husband and said "can you guess which chick is a packing peanut surprise cockerel?"

You got a email with pics!? Different, I've never ordered from them though.
When I ordered 15 NN's from Cackle I got one packing peanut, turned out to be a double laced Barnevelder cockerel, pretty bird but I didn't need it, tasted good.
Meyer hatchery of 25 I didn't get any peanuts but had in the order ten 'adopt me bargain chicks' so I guess I ordered some peanuts myself, was 7 cockerels and three pullets various breeds. Sandhill order of 25 I ended up with half my order peanuts but I got the 10 I really wanted and they have a min order of 25, I didn't have to pay for the other 15 they were free and a even mix of one breed so I guess I can't complain lol.

I think they mean merchandise other than chicks. Incubators, medications etc.

Don't they usually use red star cockerels? It could have been the mystery rare breed pullet....Let's hope....

Mine was a polish cockerel (he was delicious) and I also got an extra female white leghorn.

Yeah, I thought the add was worded a little weird. Why not use a picture of incubators, feeders, water containers, books, etc instead of this box of fuzzy butts? I get emails from them as I think I signed up for them when I created an account. I'm planning on eventually getting my Fayoumis from them as they will sex theirs while Cackle's are straight run. I'd rather get from Cackle but I'm cockerel rich now.

Still trying to get awake. It's not going well, LOL. Just told DH that I went to sleep aroun 11 but at 12 popped awake. No reason. Got up and fiddled around, stoked the fire, got a drink, etc and went back to bed and right back to sleep. Now I'm just focused on one word....
