I like lamb but my Youngest is not a fan of it. She says it is too gamey tasting.
Thanks for the lamb tips!

Not too much sounds good to me right now but I could sure sit down in front of a big platter of snow crab and jumbo shrimp and demolish it in record time. I think sea food is my favorite meat by far along with fish. I'm not too much of a beef fan. I think it stems from the time my gall bladder was going bad and I got roaring sick on roast beef. The smell of it is enough to make me back away now although I do love the occasional medium rare steak.

Made it out to take care of the chickens, although the bachelor roosters got loose on me and invaded the standard sized bird's pen. One of the bantams flew up into the coop and my watch dog hen, a speckled Sussex named Speckles chased him out. She is a funny little girl. While the other birds will scream and thrash about if a 'strange' rooster even looks at them, Specs will stand up on her toes, raise her hackle feathers and send them scooting. I've seen a few bantams square off with her and she generally wins the challenge. I still felt too crappy to chase them down and stuff them back in their pen so I wished them well and exited stage right.

Winding down. I did manage to get a little done around the house but the sofa is beckoning to me along with a big glass of iced ginger tea for my stomach.

later everyone. Have a great monday.

I am hoping the person I theoretically traded needlework this winter for ayam cemani eggs this spring comes through. I have found that people's word is not what it used to be. If I say I'm going to do something it is done. Not so for others .
I hope she does come through. Not good when people's lack of follow through causes us to lose faith in our fellow humans. Unfortunately it happens too often, hard not to get jaded about the possibility someone MIGHT actually come through as they said they would.

I've been eating small plates of pork roast basically off an on since ~2pm... Started with a mashed potato before it was even done... I so love pork... :drool
I think you should get a feeder pig.

I would invite myself to your house if I lived close enough ;) Getting pork other than bacon into DD2 is a push. Other than ham or bacon into DW is possible but kinda rare.

I'm growing mint to make apple mint jelly. I'll bet that would be good on lamb also.
No no no!!!! I think people who put mint jelly on lamb just don't like the taste of lamb and are trying to hide it ;) Save the lamb for those of us who appreciate, no, LOVE it! :D

When i made it we did like the recipe I googled. But I did not save it. Lamb is very expensive in the store. But we did want to try it. I cooked it in the crock pot.
Costco has lamb on sale from time to time

Never acquired the taste for lamb

It's going to be a couple months for her to get them separated out for good breeding. I have no reason not to trust her at this point. I'm not jaded, and I'm still going to continue to be me and trusting (within reason). Because the worst that happened is I gave away some of my work and made someones day... I never do that, right?
Got the freak eggs set.

We don't have a Costco.
I tried to look at their meat online but it was organic and I am not going to spend that kind of money on meat.

I planned on spending 300. Yesterday at Sam's. But after looking I decided to go with a local cash and carry in Selma. They have good quality meat at cost plus 10 percent. so I will get more for my money. And they will cut it for me.
