The Old Folks Home

I wrapped the apple tree cutting that had damage with grafting tape.
They are all budding out. So far so good.

I had one little nova spy apple tree get girdled by a rodent one winter. Tried to graft the whole thing back to the rootstock but just couldn't get it, no help, plus it was down low. I never grafted before and watched a guy on YouTube do it just by cutting v-notches matching up bark, and wrapping tightly with strips of garbage bag.
I ended up getting four branches from that tree grafted to a crappy wild crab apple at the end of our driveway. Lasted two yrs then that winter a deer ate them, just the one's I grafted didn't touch the rest of the tree...

That's sad. Sorry.

I just tied a fork to a pie tin like the old timmers used to do and tied it to my porch door. The wind is blowing it around making it clang. I hope it works!

I have the rubber boots from h'll with the screws out the bottom and a walking stick I am never without
My DD that lives in Finland uses grips that go over her boots. She fell in the Ice last year and hurt her knee. It gets very Icy in Finland.

You can see some of it in this picture of my Grand Daughter on her second Birthday last month
