The Old Folks Home

I have my M ranking in my drivers license. Got it about 7 years ago or so. Own a VTR 250. DH also rides. He is a veteran racer, road racing and has a wall of trophies and plaques. He is an excellent rider and we also own a Vintage Virago that we ride two up on. One day though we were out on my VTR. Two up on route 36 when we had a woman in a SUV come ripping off a merging side street and almost broadside us. Only his skill kept us upright, off her front grill like a big old hood ornament and in our lane.

That pretty much soured me out on road riding. Most motorcycle riders are safety conscious. (Not saying that all are, just most) You have to be because your realize that if you aren't you are going to be turned into road pizza. One of the biggest hazards is distracted drivers. People on cell phones, people not watching their mirrors, people yelling at kids, the same hazards we faced while cycling. I still have my VTR even though I haven't ridden on the road for ages. I also have a 70cc Zuma that I upgraded myself from a 50cc. I do ride it on the road running errands around the neighborhood along with my 125cc Honda TTR dirtbike and a Honda 150 Dirtbike. One day somebody asked me why I didn't ride on the road and I told them that because when I ride in the timber I don't have to worry about being sideswiped and I've never had a tree jump out in front of me.

"Potato, potato, potato, potato, potato, potato...."

Very much like the way I make it, except I do a smaller volume for the yogurt maker. I either add a small container of Chobani or a yogurt culture packet after the heating and cooling of the milk, then pour it into the little jars and put in the yogurt incubator. If using the Chobani, it takes about 5 hours to set up; if using the powdered culture it's more like 7 to 8 hours. Let it sit overnight in the fridge before straining, otherwise too much separates out.
Apparently you can make yogurt in the Instant Pot, but I haven't gotten that adventurous yet. (I'm actually trying to cut down on dairy)
It is very easy to make in the Brod and Taylor bread proofer. I make 4 cups at a time and use two tablespoons from the last batch to culture the new batch. I make a batch each weekend

Pictures or it didn't happen
Yeah...what is this spring thing of which they speak? ??

Daffodils coming up. Tulips trying, but rabbits are snacking

So many of you made these odd spring time posts... you must all be living on some other planet ...far, far away!

Dog and I walked for quite some time this morning (trying to wear her out so I could get some sewing time).

We walked down to the pond to find the crust still completely frozen solid.

Spring is not coming.

I am not looking, I am NOT going to look!!!!!

photoshoped. yep... must be :old

Flowers in February, pshaw!

Most of the trees in that one picture are Star Magnolias, Saucer Magnolias and other spring-blooming Magnolia hybrids. Because we've so often seen frost turn that gorgeous show into soggy brown rags, Critter and I joke that when they bloom, it's a sign that we are about to get the last frost of the year.
