The Old Folks Home

Morning everyone. Sitting here drinking coffee and looking at the news on the internet. I found this article and wanted to share it with you.

Kind of amusing, reading about how much these peeps are paying for their chicken coops/runs/private chicken chefs etc. I think everything that I have invested in my birds' accommodations rounds out to about 2-3 hundred dollars. Most of the building materials to do the shed were gifted. The expense came with a couple of kennel panels and the wood to create a wall in the shed.

Chicka, so happy for you. Aren't we women funny creatures, though. We get excited and happy over the darnedest things. New appliances, our hens laying their first eggs, etc.

SGC, that pup is growing like a weed. Be glad they are small bones. Ours drag in old cow leg bones that they find in the woods. Try stubbing your toe on one of those in the middle of the night.
It is very true! Keeping chickens does not have to cost a fortuen

This is the dishwasher they're bringing, and hooking up. I was going to get a cheaper dishwasher, but this one was on sale. They included free delivery AND installation. By the time they added the installation fee into the price of the cheaper one, it was close enough in price to be able to upgrade.

I hope that it works better than our Bosch, really I do. Don't want to be negative here since you haven't even gotten it yet but ours leaves bits of stuff on and in the glasses. We have to "prewash" everything that has food on it or wash the glasses after they come out of the machine. The other option is to open it as SOON as it finishes and wipe the glasses dry. Otherwise the heat from the wash cycle (it doesn't have a dry cycle) dries the stuff on. And we were told to absolutely NOT rinse the dishes because the machine somehow uses the "bits of stuff" to figure out when it is clean. Well I don't think it works the way it should.

It IS quiet, that is why we chose it. So quiet there is a red light that shines on the floor so you know it is on. The only time I hear anything is when it is draining water.

It does look like the porcelain on the sink is cracked in places. That is almost impossible to fix I think. But yes if DD doesn't want it I surely would put it out in the yard somewhere as a potting table or something. It would be perfect for that, especially if you hooked it up to a hose.

I sent the dog out to pee last night. About 2 minutes later she comes back in the door with...
Good hunter!

We went for a long walk this morning. My LL Bean boot top split from the bottom about a mile and a half from the house. Then on the way back there was a herd of 16 deer, a pop up blizzard to go with the wind and then the dog went insane, digging and sniffing, then... pop

She flings the mouse out of her nice warm den, then sticks her face back in there, slurping up all the smells of a mouse nest. Smelled the mouse a few times, but honestly didn't care much about it. The mouse was not impressed.

We replaced our dishwasher in December. Since then we have used less water than the year before. Who knew old dishwashers used that much more water?
I know our new clothes washing mashine uses less water!

It has one large sink and drain boards on both sides. It's stained. I know the stains come out. But I hate this sink! Penny there is no need to kill for it. It's only a sink.

DW would love that sink and she doesn't mind a single tub, we had a stainless single when we moved here, already remoded though, got a good deal on a whole setup, floor model kitchen setup at Home Depot, bought everything, cabinetry, sink, counter, $6,000+, said I could have it for $500, right place right time. Didn't plan on gutting kitchen at the time but couldn't pass it up and our kitchen was bad. I saved the plywood from homemade cabinets on one side of kitchen, the metal ones under the sink were rough but I did save one for the garage.
My brother actually has the same one in his old house, that's how I know DW would want yours, she asked him for it if he ever gets rid of it, to late now though, I ain't installing another.
Pretty funny was just on FB and my aunt posted this, Lol!

Ya that's funny. I know many people would love it. But I'm not one of them.
