The Old Folks Home

Kind of amusing, reading about how much these peeps are paying for their chicken coops/runs/private chicken chefs etc.
JUST a private chef and $20K coop?? I think they should all have their own Teslas too.
When I read about such "excesses" I console myself by thinking "at least they are trickling down some of their massively excess wealth rather than just buying more stock."

Pretty funny that a half dozen eggs now replaces a bottle of wine. I wonder what they think those eggs are worth if they were selling them. I have to ASSUME that they wouldn't be bringing a $2 bottle of wine.

I just stopped washing clothes altogether... when I found how much water that saved I stopped bathing too. ;)
I've not noticed any smells wafting up this way so I don't care. Good thing Mel doesn't mind.

That does sound yummy! We had egg and sausage tacos. When you have chickens you eat a lot of eggs. I like to make what we call a breakfast pie. The “crust” is garlic cheese grits and the filling is eggs, bacon, chives and cheese.
OH YUmmm

The find on the walk tonight was an enormous stick that had blown into the middle of the road and yes we had to bring it home

We were so excited about this one that we had to run home to thoroughly enjoy the stick ... and I don't run ... perhaps I'll lose some weight from this

SCG Have you been made aware of LLBean's new return policy? Limited to one year from purchase. Plus they reinstated shipping of $ 6.00 if under $ 50. Since they (and the other Guy) price things at 49.48, etc. etc. you don't quality for free shp. To make up the slack they don't have any items in the $ 1-10 range.

They said they had to do this because people thought their guarantee was for lifetime and were sending in items for refund that were ages old and dilapadated etc. etc. I have been a customer since 1990's NEVER returned anything that wasn't in prime condition and clean. I didn't wait forever to do so. So I am really furious with them.

I'm sure the LE company will follow suit. LE prices are high but, LLB's are even worse.
The reason for buying from them at such prices as because they stood behind defective merchandise.

At least at LE we have a store about 40 minutes away that will take in returns with NO shp.charge and if you return and then buy anything at the store (even if 60 percent off) they will add another 10 percent off. I always find something I want there. You can even order from the catalog (in store and NOT pay shipping. So far this is great plus they often have 50% off one full price item - sometimes 50 off entire order.

I don't work, or have stock with either of them. Hope all the stuff I have bought recently will hold up past one year because it sure cost a bundle to get them.

You may now return to your previously enjoyed thread.

Lovely little cemetery!

Tell me something good, y'all. Anyone have fun weekend plans? Anyone do something kind for someone else today?
Planning out my next eight to ten weeks depending on the radiation Doctors schedual...
Saw my surgeon yesterday for what I thought was the last time.... Good visit had a student in there to learn and observe he was nice. Boy for someone who hadnt been seen by a Gynocologist in about Thirty years I am sure getting "Over it"....

Stitches are dissolving on time... Yay. Then the doc says... See you in three months... and every three months for the next FIVE years.... :th

Then his assistant and scheduler came in with another RN in tow. She introduced her and she is doing a study of Cancer survivors and would I be interested in doing an interview and filling out a questionnaire. Nice gal we went out into the main hall and sat.

It was interesting to say the least and we had a long conversation.

So the next visit I have is for Radiation which is on the Twelfth That will probably take three visits to start. They have to measure me CT scan me and Tattoo me with Registration marks for the radiation. My Gyn doc said the radiation will be five times a week for five weeks.... The pamphlet I read says I will continue to se the Radiation doc once every three months afterwards for five years. :th

I will be sixty eight by the time I am discharged.

:th:th

But All in all I am feeling good. Practicing my core strength... Every time I contract my stommach muscles It pulls my body straight... My back muscles are relaxing and the pain I have been experiencing is going away...

My project for this week end is to do some walking and practicing with those muscle.s

I don't know that I'd return anything older than a year - I've gotten about 5 years of daily abuse out of my boots so the fact that the stitching finally dry rotted isn't a shocker.

However, they have to blame themselves a bit for the abuse of their return policy. They'd take anything back and they'd encourage you to do so.

I'm about an hour from the store and I will travel to buy some items there (or buy online if I'm not feeling like a drive). They sell nice boots still, and light but really warm jackets. That's about the extent of what I'll purchase.

SCG your dog is a doll. I'm surprised she can handle your weather with no fur coat. I never had a smooth coated dog. My first Cocker pet loved the snow. The ones I raised later for show DID not. they would potty and get back inside before the swinging door stopped swinging.
One champion & mother of 4 chs. would honestly look like she was going to faint if she even smelled cold air or snow. Her bday was Feb.2 so of course she served as our groundhog dog and never predicted early spring.

You are well on the way to recovery!

I don't buy boots from Bean(too chancy through the mail for sizing) but, yes the winter coats, fleece lines jeans, , fleece lined shirts (now have 4) and now have the bomber hats. I buy in men's sizes in shirts because I do not have anything resembling a hourglass figure.

I used to get(way back( fleece lined jeans from LE and they were not ridiculously relaxed so I could park two behinds and two more thighs inside them. They stopped making them years ago, guess their fashion driven customers didn't like them anyway. I still have one pair from LE from early 90's that is long in the tooth but still structurally sound and warm.

That is my biggest bone to pick with LL bean. Woman have complained about that RELAXED only sizing, for years and Bean's just ignores them. Men get several different fits to accomidate them. They don't seem to care what women want.:rant
