cannot justify the cost in my mind heating pad was 30.00 to get one large enough and no timer but is a sunbeam will bring it in see may return it if faulty

But...what was the cost of the eggs hatched?

The plate is only a bit more than the heating pad and is for chicks. Heating pads are for sore knees and etc.

Oh Well I will stop posting about brooder plates! We are now into the cult of the MHP.

I just read two different dates. One said that the supplier has 30 days to get them to market and another 30 days to get them sold. Another said 45 days to be sold but one link said thta there were egg cartons that were at the grocers for 45 days. Too long in other words.

Penny, some heating pads have automatic shut offs. Check yours to make sure it isn't one of them.

If my husband hadn't designed and developed the two temperature regulators for my broody lamps I would definitely go with the warming plates.I know the MHP is a great idea and works well but it makes me a bit nervous for some reason, especially since the room I brood chicks in is by nature chilly.

I specifically bought the one I did off Amazon because it did not have a timer
that coop does not have hardwire yet so it is on an extension cord cheap household style in the coop outside the main cord is pretty strong

Circuit breaker maybe? Other than that, faulty product. I'd contact the manufacturer.

Checkers is slowly stalking Rascal. She is having a bath in the kitchen doorway. When she looks up he freezes mid stride. When she goes back to licking, he starts moving. Repeat. Rascal moved into the kitchen, turned and laid down looking directly at "Checkers the statue" in the dining area. Stand off!! He finally gave up and went back to a chair in the living room ... where he can still see her if he decides to restart the hunt.

This is why I find history so enthralling.

Yes, Heroin was a brand name of the chemical diamorphine (Heroin from the same root of the word heroic). Morphine was readily available back then and people were realizing it was addicting. Drug companies were trying to make a non-addictive morphine.
When it was put on the market (OTC) it was marketed as the non-additive morphine.

Can't make this stuff up.
