The Old Folks Home

Yeah, Vanco is chashy. Plus for humans we had to do peaks and troughs lab work. So many hours after a dose and then before the next dose we had to draw labs. If the blood levels were high as in the toxic range we would have to hold a dose then redo the labs. Big old pain in the buttock all the way around.

Wonder if doggo knows how lucky she is that mom and daddy are pharmacists.

Scg sorry your pro is sick.
I hope the meds work.

Thanks Y'all.
I hope everyone feels better soon.

I called BCBS they said the dr office did not send the Dr notes with the request so they had to deny it.

I called the Nero Dr that did his first disk. The said if I bring the x-rays they will see him. And will request the MRI.
They gave me an appointment for Wednesday. Yea
I hope things get moving for Him!

Been a crazy day so far. Dog had diarrhea every hour on the hour through the night. Since I don't sleep well after the first few hours anyway, bf took the before midnight shift and i took the after.
I was getting out of the shower at 0515 and saw my phone going off. It was someone at work asking me where I was... was supposed to be at work at 5.
Apparently I can go from dripping wet to out the door in 3 minutes, flat. I should put that skill on my resume. I was even wearing all the required clothing for public ventures.
BF took the dog to the vet this morning and apparently she has c. difficile diarrhea, likely tracked home because both bf and myself work in a hospital. Lovely.
Oh yes, the one that is difficult to get rid of and smells so lovely...poor thing.

Thanks Ron.

I told the Nero Dr. About the med center not getting the job done.
They agreed to see him with just the x-rays to get started. Normally they won't see anyone without an MRI first.
good job getting the to see Him!

This is oral vanco, not injectable. It doesn't absorb so it's concentrated in the gut to kill the bad stuff. We still do troughs (not peaks) for injectable.

So we'll try the med and then if/when it doesn't work I'll call and ask for the vanco. I'll also ask that they write a script for the injectable so we can compound it ourselves and save $1000 off the list price of vanco capsules.

Ahhhh the bennies of being a licensed pharmacist... :)

So I felt guilty about leaving this thing half done and powered through the rest the last 2 days in my spare time .

I will put it aside to quilt in a few months when I'm ready.
