My eggs do NOT come from the chickens' butts. My eggs come from the nest. Hahaha!

The vent has two parts. One is connected to digestion and the other is connected to reproduction. When the egg comes out, it closes the opening to digestion. Likewise, when poop comes out, the opening to the reproductive tract is closed.

So....poop and eggs do not actually come out of the same opening.

Is that understandable or do we need a graphic?

Thanks Misty. Yep, slept great.Hope you did also and DH is feeling well today.

Just got back from dropping off the extra cockerels for the neighbor. Sorry looking bunch of little rectal sphincters. But by the time I got back the whole coop had settled down.

They asked me if there was a nice one they could put in with their hens because their rooster is a jerk. I told them all 9 of these were jerks so I would have to stress NO! Then their rooster strolled out to fight with the newcomers through their holding pen. He is a big beautiful either Wyandotte or EE boy. I told them how to break him from being a jerk and told the 8 year old chicken wrangler of the family that if he needed any help I would be glad to help de-jerkify their boy for them.

The good news is my broody has a new baby under her. Adorable tiny little chipmunk of a chick, yeah, I know But I just lifted her for a second. 2 more to hatch.

One of my older blind hens isn't doing well. I think she was the object of the roosters attention last night and she is stressed. Not eating, or drinking. Got her to take a few bites of scrambled egg but is sitting off by herself today. She is a sweet hen. I will hate to see her go.

Y'all have a great Tuesday. I'm off to make lunch and mow before rain sets in.

Getting the extra boys out makes a big difference!

No but they do both pass by the same butt feathers Sometimes the poop sticks, I've not had a hen get an egg stuck on her butt feathers.

I know I have a flat when the vehicle gets squirrelly.

You guys jinxed me. DH greeted me this morning that my car has a nail sticking out of one of the back tires. Sure enough, looks like it went into the tread, stayed in the tread and popped out the outside of the tread. At least it isn't flat and DH thinks he can push it back through., but not the way to start the morning.

Plugs work great for nail holes in the tread, that's all a tire place will use themselves.

A friend of mine posted on FreakBook about the high price of coffee, especially that of the variety that is digested by civets and commanding uber-high prices. The following exchange -- which I found rather humorous -- took place amongst myself and a follower:

"Louise yuk.... people are so stupid.... they pay tons of money to drink coffee beans that came out of an animal's butt.... what fools humans can be....

Dee Louise, so...how do you like your Whole Foods organic eggs?

Louise I don't shop Whole Paycheck.... and besides eggs don't come out of a chicken's digestive track as excrement ... they come out of her vagina like all eggs and babies....

Dee They come out the same hole and sometimes smeared with poo. Trust me on that as I've got chickens. (Chickens don't have vaginas, btw. In poultry terms it's a cloaca. BIG difference. Maybe look up avian anatomy?)"

I'll eat eggs everyday. Still think feeding a civet cat coffee beans and using the pooped beans for coffee is gross

I feel dead, ruined my week and beautiful 70+ outside and I just woke up to get ready for work. I agreed to 3:30-3:30am again this week, 20hrs OT is nice but week ruined ugghh. Couldn't get to sleep when I got home, slept 8-noon.
Good news is though I put three naked necks in the wood boiler shut down and slow bbq smoked them for 4hrs while I slept hoping I don't ruin them, they look yum.

@ronott1, Good new for your mom! Prayers sent for a speedy recovery.

Love the cone of shame pictures. Last time I used one on one of our dogs, she chewed her way out of it. Discovered that you can buy the silly things on line and at the local feed store.

Tires suck. We just spent 300 dollars on a set of heavy duty truck tires for our econline van.
