Oh no, i hate when you lose one. I had a doe die on me, but it never seemed like she was in labor. As soon as she died i did a c section but the kids were both dead. Awfully sad.

yeah... wasn't clear why it was dead... the mouth looked a little odd.. but maybe just because it had stuck in a funny position. .. couldn't have been dead long since it wasn't smelly... so I am hoping :fl that means a big chance that mom will be fine... no infection etc.

mom looks really good, birth was easy.

the 2 live ones have nursed enough that one side of her udder is already pretty low.

could you tell why she died? last year someone lost a doe ... she never went into labor... went past due... then her uterus ruptured. Just wow. and sad too because the doe was a super beloved pet.

They have boluses you can insert if you are worried about possible infection.

No, if i thought she was having issues i would have taken her to the vet. But the buck ran with the herd so i had no exact due date.

yeah... I have some things on hand... but not that. the local tiny town feed store doesn't even have milk filters :barnie We are having to make due until Friday when I drive up to the next half big town.

So I will just cross my fingers. :fl
