The Old Folks Home

yeah... wasn't clear why it was dead... the mouth looked a little odd.. but maybe just because it had stuck in a funny position. .. couldn't have been dead long since it wasn't smelly... so I am hoping :fl that means a big chance that mom will be fine... no infection etc.

mom looks really good, birth was easy.

the 2 live ones have nursed enough that one side of her udder is already pretty low.

We shop for deals on tires. Have got great deals from tire rack .com but only if they are offering free shipping, if they are not the shipping negates the savings. Sears we have many times got buy three get one free. Last good deal we got was for our suburban, 265-70-16s Cooper discover mud and snow studdables for $105 ea delivered free. I mount them myself and don't balance, never had any problems with vibration or wear not balancing. Most the balancing comes from bad rims or bad tires. Now that most rims are aluminum I see less wheel weights when I change other people's tires.
Back when I had my f-250 hd plow truck had tires put on one wheel had weights halfway around the rim, wtf, should've told me to just get a new rim. And then when some of the weights fall off....
I have to put six on my truck when it needs them.... I have in the past hit the used tire store.... Most only have thirty thousan or less miles on them.... 25 bucks each...for my honda...

did the last check of Mocha.

She is being good... silly though... she will let the kids nurse for a little bit, then needs to turn around to look at them and make sure they are OK. Then she let's them nurse a bit more.... then repeat.

But... she isn't spinning like a top... they are getting their fill... so all good. Not too cold tonight.

This is her second time. .. but it has been 2 years since she had kids... the buck didn't get her right last year. Different buck this year.

I sometimes get used from a small garage and junkyard that buys wrecks. Usually only in pairs cause the others wrecked, $25ea also, cash of course.
Have a huge u-pull it junkyard a ways away, heard they had tires on the vehicles. Stopped there one day for something else, didn't see any tires on any of the vehicles as usual. Asked in the office where the used tires were? On the vehicles. I didn't see any.
Vultures, scavengers come in almost daily and take them all to sell themselves. Oh well.

Forgot to mention... kids stayed up late today... the 16 and 14 year old took the pig that they helped kill Saturday and packaged it up for us. They did a bang up job.

Eldest (19) didn't help... He has been running a fever of 101 and he has finals this week. He looked so bad during his math final that the prof went to find spouse (who works at the college ) and say that he was worried.

And kid is leaving us this next Tuesday... so a week today. Tomorrow is more finals, Thursday I take him in to get his teeth cleaned, Friday he drives up to the next town to help them with their church services... I pick him up and bring him home Sunday... he packs Monday... and leaves Tuesday.

:th

And that is it. He has decided to go up to Anchorage in the fall for school... we are trying to find housing that we can afford... shouldn't be too bad....

and.. the eldest is gone.

Might have to sell a goat.

:hugs I think you are missing them already Alaskan. I only have one child, a 32 yr. old son so when he left home years and years ago - empty nest syndrome really smacked me good. He is long distance away where his job is but, does call me once a week so that helps a lot.

I think I need a hug myself:hugs yes, that's better.
