The Old Folks Home

Oh Penny!!! I hope you got all that glass up off the floor, seems to travel a hundred feet when it blows. Hope you got it all out of your foot and finger.

I think we have cannot feel it in the finger now only tender from slice BF found the one in my slipper

I was always told I was a throw back... looked just like my dad's dad and his family. I was named after my great-great-grandfather. I have his hair and his eyebrows, and face shape .... and height. (short)

But my mom actually looks a lot like my dad's dad.... :idunno Except my mom has some height.

My dad..I look nothing like him... he looks like his mom. My baby sister looks like my dad.

Both of my parents are identical twins. Both twins did not marry each other (which would've been interesting.) My dads side of the family has the dominant DNA. My siblings & my cousins on that side all look alike, think similar, talk similar & have the same twisted sense of humor. They're more like half siblings in everyway than cousins. They all live far away & we don't get to see them much, but when we do its like a joyous, hysterical family reunion that no one wants to end.

My mothers sister married someone (a total jerk) whos DNA was dominant. My cousins on that side are like lazy, miserable, angry, haters, with zero resemblance in any form to the rest of us. Its awkward because my mom & her sister have always been so inseparable that my dad used to joke that he had 2 wives, but the cousins just don't mesh with anybody, not even with themselves. We've been forced to have them at everything including basic Sunday dinners because my mom wouldn't go without her sister, & her sisters kids (older than me & with their own kids & grandkids now) still follow her everywhere she goes. :he Its horrible! I dread visiting my mom because I don't want to deal with them.

On a brighter note, its been interesting to watch the siblings & cousins have kids because some of them will look independent, or like their other parent, & some of them are like identical replicas of my dad & his brother. We always use our Jedi voices & say, "Ah! The DNA is strong with this one." :lau

You know.... He looks like my dad at that age.... Dad Loved his airplane as well. Dads was a bi Plane with fabric....wings and fuselage.

If you know the number on the plane you can track it down.

I wish you felt better, but glad you're still up & around. :hugs

In the past I could only track it as far as San Diego. but as the internet has gotten 'better' (or more invasive:oops:) I'm getting closer to finding it. I think I've narrowed it down to Gillespie Field, but still don't know for sure.:fl

My cousins are older than me as Ma was 11 years younger than her closest sibling
DW's family is like that. Her father is the youngest of 5, just turned 93. The next sister up turned 100 last October, she never married. Next brother up would now be 102 if he were still alive, never married. Next brother up would be 107, had 2 kids. Older sister would be 109, had 3 kids. DW's closest first cousin is about 16 years older than her. Her oldest cousin is 20 years older and her oldest kid is about 12 years younger than DW.

Hugs, be careful that stuff hurts! I am always the one that finds the shards with my big feet.
