The Old Folks Home

I wouldn't know, but it would be good to know.. I am now also in the Veterans Choice program, I pick a dr or clinic near me and the VA will approve them.. Then I'd go there and the VA picks up the bill.. However, this is something I've used once.. I drive to the VA hospital in Tampa..
Don't ever use the one in Memphis:sickfor years they've been trying to close it last year they had another article on the situation deplorable deaths money laundering you name it so many vets being taken advantage of makes me angry:rant

Not all marriages are like that :hmm
Our marriage started simple free still is but stronger than we ever thought it would be.I guess storms will do that to you,the question is are you strong enough:confused:

My ex wife and I dated for five years, a beautiful friendship that ended up in marriage..:hmm:( We did have four girls, and I have five grandchildren..:)

Still not sure if I am up to being a regular again....

sorry, I didn't read what I missed. hugs and well wishes to the lot of ya'll.

but I wanted to share a few photos. ..

I can't remember if I already showed the best ones from the funeral.

And then a week later we flew up to Portland,Oregon and eldest was tonsured a sub-deacon by the Metropolitan. Huge deal.

Here the Metropolitan is putting the vestments (fancy clothes ) on my kid. It was done at a Conference / convention for our church, so the church was set up in a ballroom, lots of people , services every day. All of that kind of stuff in a huge hotel.

That hotel must have been all kinds of dusty because both spouse and I cried. My mom didn't! :old

Incredible.. VA hospitals operate separate from each other, they don't function like a corporation.. I go to the one in Tampa, I like it there.. However, I lived in West Palm Beach and that VA hospital is horrible..:he

That poor Married Rooster looks like my bantam boys. Man are those birds hard on one another. I'm almost looking forward to them molting so they get new feathers in. They don't have all that many to loose anymore, LOL. Several look like featherless rubber chickens.

I had something interesting happen with my alpha rooster the other day. I watched a hen get mobbed by 5 of the boys and decided that maybe I'd pull the two most senior roosters for a day and let the girls get a break along with the less dominant males. I pulled Twonkie and Indy and put them in the bachelor pen. It took about 15 minutes for them to realize where they were and weren't. Twonkie stood at the fence, gazing at his flock and started to cry his heart out. I've never heard such a sound come from one of my roosters. It was a full throated wail over and over again. Indy got up on an outside perch and set there with his head hanging down, totally defeated. They broke my heart. Without hesitation, I gathered them back up and marched them back to their girls.

I'll argue with anybody who says they don't have emotions and aren't aware of what is going on around them as far as bonds to their flock mates are concerned.

@Alaskan. Thank you so much for sharing those pictures with us. You must be so proud of your boys and the inside of your church is beautiful. I've always been partial to church architecture and interested in other people's faiths. Thank you again, and deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved father. Mine passed in 06 and I miss him to this day.

Back to work this morning. No more sitting in the AC studying. Back to the wood pile!
Maybe you should study up for that other test... just in case. So pleased you did well on your test!

Thanks for sharing the pics Al. Beautiful. Again, condolences on your loss. Looks like he had a beautiful parting service and though he's in a better place, his remains look to be in another beautiful setting. Congrats to you and to your son for his vestment. I'm sure you are very proud of him as well as all the other boys. It does appear that it was a pretty big deal. It's a huge step for him.

You know that we're all here for you when you need us and are ready. Each takes their own time to grieve and heal. The last few years have been particularly rough for you (& your family) and I'm sure there's much to reconcile. It all takes time. Best wishes and will look forward to (ETA: and hope for) your eventual return.
