The Old Folks Home

And all of the issues I had with my dad when he was spiraling downwards with his illness. .... gotta say seeing so many people crying over the fact that he was gone, and having so many people tell me how much they loved him and would miss him... was very healing. It helped reset him in my mind... as the man he was before all of the illness crap.
I believe this is what funerals are for.... sigh....

I just got back from the social security office. I can't collect squat until Dh retires, and that won't be for another 3 and a half years. I would have to have worked 5 out of the past 10 years to qualify for Disability. I didn't. I can't collect disability off of his, unless he too is collecting disability. He earns too much for me to get SSI. When he retires, and gets social security, then I can get it too. I would qualify under my ex's social security, and disability, except that I remarried. Can't catch a break.

You can't claim yourself without including your spouse
When you go to work you don't take your spouse
When you claim taxes do you claim spouse or separate

You should talk to an Attorney that specializes in SSI. Most disability claims are denied on the firs round and if you wait too long after being declared disabled, it times out

Ron, he's still working, and makes too much for me to qualify for SSI. They checked. By "makes too much" they mean we aren't totally indigent. It doesn't mean we have lots of money, so we don't need it.
For ssi disability? I thought that had different rules.

My Father was denied in the 1970s. He had MS
