The Old Folks Home

Oh yeah, we pay personal property tax on livestock. Horses, cows, goats, chickens, emus, ostriches, elk, breeding dogs (dogs not spayed or neutered that are being used for breeding as in a kennel). Mind you it isn't a lot you pay but yeah.

On the flip side. We pay something like 25 dollars a year for license plate stickers for our cars. The trick is not to drive new cars and you pay less taxes.

Nighty night, Misty!

But in IL we paid a 'sugar' tax on junk food. And high taxes on just about everything.
Amazingly, The CA legislature made sugar taxes illegal...at the local level. I wonder if they will come up with a state wide one now?

I do not know though. The soda lobby is very strong here

They had a soda(sugar) tax here which was a penny an ounce - think about 2 lt. bottles , etc. but so many people bought outside the county - they had to repeal it. Ha ha!!

It was also on lemonade, tea, can't remember the rest but, widespread. I also think on juice that wasn't 100% fruit juice.

Lol, people can make a difference if they just stick together

I wouldn't be against that. In VT there is "rooms and meals" tax on prepared food even at the grocery store. Tax on a cooked chicken but no tax on sugar ladened junk food. Makes no sense to me.

So they should lower the tax on your livestock based on age. :D

It must be. VT has a "sugar" tax on drinks with added "sweetener" which includes artificial. I happen to be happy about that last part because those give me migraines. I was concerned that if a "sugar" tax was only on "natural" sweeteners the manufacturers would just go to all artificial.
