The Old Folks Home

They fixed the A/C late yesterday afternoon. I'm working on getting the house put back together. The blanket, and piece of insulated board have been removed, the mattresses put back on the beds, the duct tape and exhaust vent have been removed, so the slider is shut. Most of the furniture is back where it goes. I've got a couple more pieces to put back, but want to vacuum that area first. We will take the window unit out today too. I'm sure glad I have them for such instances. It would be torture staying in a house that's over 90 degrees.

For the record, it stormed last night. It had to make up for the time it missed while my A/C was out. Mission accomplished!

That is good news! In hot places you need the AC working

I saw a news article about a dam problem in WV. How is your River?

It is up high, but not the worst it has been. We have had 2 flash flood alerts for our area! Always scares me when the phone siren kicks in.

I hope it does not get worse. Here if Shasta dam broke we would all be in trouble even down here

Reminds me of what I did to my sister, once.
She had a hot date and had put a tv dinner in the oven to eat before she went out on the date. Well, I came in the house from plowing a field all day and was hungry.
So finding the dinner was in the oven, i proceeded to carefully unwrap the foil cover and consumed it in a flash. After eating it, I re-wrapped it and put it back in the oven.
A few minutes later, she came into the kitchen to get her dinner. Upon unwrapping it, she was shocked and complaining to Mom that they (the factory) didn't fill this one with anything. :gig Mom, later on told her what I did! :lau:gig

:lau hey I love pranks as long as it does not involve someone messing with my coffee.:lau

Me too, Alaskan. When I was 5 my mother asked me if she should get divorced because he had a terrible temper. I didn't know what a divorce was. She didn't think she could raise us alone. But her parents would have taken us in. They hadn't liked my father from the start. Needless she stayed with my father till she died at 77 . I always thought she died to get away from him.

Diva I'm sorry you went through that.

My mother could not leave my father as she had to many kids and could not support them on her own. She thought.
She bathed us when she was off and saw the bruises and welts.
We made it through ok. We all knew to hide and stay out of dads way when he was home.
