The Old Folks Home

I agree re: chasing doctors for refills. Mine likes to blackmail - she'll say you get one refill unless you come in for an office visit. WHY spend the money when you don't have a need for a doctor? She is a third year resident and will be leaving this month. Maybe the next one (first year resident) will be better.

My hip used to hurt me so bad I could hardly walk. I had to use a cane most of the time.
And my Dr. told me to take glucosimine and it helped. I took 2 a day till the bottle was empty. And now I don't have to use a cane any more and I can walk a lot better.
I still have a day now and then where I pull it out of place but it's not like it was before.
It helped my dh a lot for a long time. But now he just has to have surgery.

Look up egg shell membrane supplements. The way my rheumy expained it to me they are like condroiten on steroids. I've been taking them for 3 weeks now. Some improvement in my fingers

Was there a recommended brand?

Thanks Micro. I will ask my Dr. about them next time I go.

He told me the best price was on Amazon.

Clicked submit too quick. I've been on them for 3 weeks now. Noticing less stiffness in my fingers which is a plus for me. Now if they would work on my feet and back I would be a big happy camper! He said the membrane worked better for relieving the morning stiffness.

I've had some annoying bursitis in my shoulder, over the outside, for the last few months. Only bothers me when I lay on it or lift anything over shoulder height though. Still in denial on the doctor thing, keeping very positive thoughts that it will just go away. Thank goodness for memory foam bed. Maybe I'll give that supplement a shot too.
