The Old Folks Home

I use the hoses in the coops. They don't freeze. One more reason I love Florida.
Same here! We do get a bit of frost in the morning in Dec to February but it is all thawed by mid morning. Not many days of that usually, less than 5 or so

The problem is Summer here

I always respected the honey dippers that came to drain the septic tanks when I was growing up. Nasty thankless job. Beautiful fall day here today, sunny and crisp. Gonna try to get some more outside stuff done today.
Not thankless... trust me... I pay that bill

And then drag what was left of the lid Two days wasted but she's finally ready to pump, and then build new top....
If the lid is rotted out, how good are the sides and bottom??

Yeah, what she said! ;) Going to have to pull the hoses to the auto waterers. Back to the bucket brigade. But I can still use the hoses for several weeks, just have to drain them for the times it goes below freezing.
