The Old Folks Home

Sorry Penny, I hate that when that happens and you don't know why.

I have a Buff O hen that is just skin and bones right now. She is lively, not laying. Not molting which is strange in itself because they are all raggedy right now. Eating well but she is one of Marek's survivors and almost 5 so I'm suspecting reproductive tumors of some sort. I keep expecting to find Sunshine dead every morning when I go out but the little ever ready bunny just runs out of the coop to greet me and swipe the bread bag out of my hand. Don't know what's keeping her going besides an amazing desire to live.

SGC that wall hanging has to be up there as one of my favorites. Just beautiful. It should 'lint' outside more often. It seems to have inspired you to even more greatness.

Chickens are really good at hiding that there's an illness until it's too late.

Sorry it happened. I've had really terrible luck with leghorns, but i keep trying.

I have found the Production white leghorns to like to die, especially right after the first laying cycle.

My breeder leghorns are good robust long lived birds.

Not sure what happened went out to clean the Legbar only one I had was slumped over
no sign of trauma but rig had not set in she had been a shadow the last couple days.. She was on the table they roost on it is built from pallets there are two in silky and the main ..
has me puzzled not enough for a necropsy I had decided to sell her
I have had Legbars do that!

:hugs

That's exactly it. The good die young. I really like them, though, so I'll keep trying.

Got BF's mom's surprise throw quilt back from the longarmer on Thursday and finished getting it bound today too (nothing like a snow day to motivate me to get some stuff done). She had asked for a quilt for the youngest grandbaby out of what was left of the shirts (after I made the memory pillows out of them). I was able to measure and cut carefully enough to use a specific block design and also get a throw size quilt for her. The baby quilt is still at the longarmer. Not sure if I'm going to give this to her tomorrow when we go over or wait for it all to be done. Probably wait so she only has to get emotional once. It's very warm and snuggly.

Also got the last coat of duck house paint on, made 2 loaves of bread and 24 pumpkin muffins along with a pumpkin bread loaf.

Off to bed!

(Sorry for all the quilt photos, y'all).
