The Old Folks Home

I know it's terrible!
But this is a sergical floor and the patients are not up walking around. But this is how staph is passed along!
I told dh I will need to go home to shower and wash clothes.

But this dang nurse came back and told me to make sure nobody touches his button but him!
I told dh that now I'm pissed and will probably call my lawyer!

The nurse can call housekeeping, and have them scrub the bathroom, with you there. I've had them do it more than once.

Remember, when I had my lung surgery there was a homeless family living in the room with the woman in the adjoining bed. They were all using the bathroom, shower, etc. They left it in disgusting condition.

Can y'all believe this floor? We will be here another 7 days at least. How can we use this restroom? View attachment 1583494

I don't think it's been mopped it 10 years.

Check into a motel with him then if they want you there 7 days tell the Dr. take photos

Kinda jumping in late here but funny that this subject has come up now. I had a doctor's appointment today. DH hates going into doctor's offices due to being exposed to all the buggies. I set there with a mask on. But I requested that he accompany me to the exam room, explaining to him that we are getting to be of 'an age' where we need to be with one another when we see the doctor and act as one another's advocates.

I've had my fair share of experiences with hospitals being advocate for a loved one. I've been called intimidating and a few other names I can't repeat. I just put my foot down and said, darned right I'm intimidating when one of my family's lives is on the line and if they didn't like it, I'd fire each and every one of them and move my family member to another hospital. That usually gets their attention. That happened with my mom. Doctor told me to stand my ground and I did. Would do it again.

As for the condition of the room, inexcusable. I've seen dirty paper towels under beds and waited to see how long it took housekeeping to clean them up. 3 days is not acceptable and when the head of housekeeping stopped by to ask if we were satisfied with the condition of the room and I pointed out the paper towels under mom's room mate's bed and told her how long they had been there. The room was thoroughly cleaned within an hour.

As for the doctors appt. Waiting to hear back from them. I'm going the Prolia infusion route now. He just smiled and told me I could handle side effects for a couple of days better once every 6 months over three days out of every week.......Glad he has so much confidence in my pain tolerance, Lol.

I'm heading to bed. Super tired tonight. Night all!
