The Old Folks Home

@chickadoodles, wanted to back read a bit before I commented about your day. Blessings to you for being proactive/advocate for your husband and prayers sent that he has a fast recovery. Take my advice and talk to your doctor about your worries concerning your husband's care. Leave it to him to rip them a new one. With most hospitals you will sooner or later have somebody from patient liaison's or social services stop by to ask if you need anything. Show them the picture of the bathroom and just mention that you will reconsider your choices in hospitals in the future. They want people to be happy so they have 'a body in the bed' as they call it. Low census= money lost.

I had a lousy night also. Awake till 2. Sinuses draining making me cough in spite of rising them last night with my nettie bottle. Then hip started hurting and I couldn't get comfortable. Pain medicine finally kicked in around 2 and I dozed off. Feel very zombie-ish this morning.

Thanks for the well wishes. I did get to see my bone density test. Strange results. Hips worse than spine, left hip worse than right but the hip osteoporosis is up there in the range that requires treatment so treatment I shall get. On the bright side is that the doctor told me that the Prolia rebuilds bone fast. So I hope it's worth the misery so to speak.

We ate out yesterday with a friend at Ruby Tuesday's. Had never eaten there before. Food was so so. I had a crispy chicken sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. The sandwich was too crispy and all that was on it was pickles. No mayo, nor none offered. Waitress never stopped by long enough for me to ask for some and I always seemed to have a mouthful of dry bread and dry chicken that I was trying to choke down. Soup was the bright spot of the meal. Doubt if we will eat there again.

Winter is here. Highs in the 30s lows in the teens. Not ready for this.

I know you have said your blood calcium level was good, but please send me a pm with the actual number. Like I posted before, most Dr.s discount this and will often admit you have a tumor but will not tell you and will not suggest getting it removed.

Did they tell you to load up on Vit. D? That is another indication that they are secretly treating a tumor...in the worst possible way

I have pretty bad sinus issues. I've tried every type pill and liquid and none of them solve it. 3 squirts of Afrin in each nostril before bed and I'm breathing free and clear till morning. I know you're not supposed to use it regularly but if I want to breath, that's my only alternative that I've found to work.
It sounds like you may need roto rooter of you sinuses.

That is crazy!

That is crazy!
It is crazy! Up to 50% of Fibromyalgia is actually a removable tumor. Often by the time it is diagnosed, the disease has progressed so far that some of the symptoms are not reversible. Most that get it corrected can get off of most pain killers though.

Since it is mostly an older women's disease, it is not treated by the medical community.

I know because a Dr. was "watching" it with my wife for over 10 years. When the Endocrinologist said it was s tumor found on a scan, her primary Dr. said so what! I would not have it removed but would load you up on Vit. D. That is the worse thing to do since it will increase the mining of calcium from the bones and when the calcium level gets over 12, many will stroke out! The kidney works so hard to remove calcium from the blood that they will calcify...I could go on but it is a real problem in the US.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear first thin in the am dumb, dumb doc put me on D
said I was low guess going back the one I trust better ask him sending him an email
Calcium levels in your blood are not good if they are higher than normal. The extra calcium comes from your bones. There is a cancer that causes it or a benign tumor. If it was cancer, you would already know that.

Ron my last calcium level was 9.7, right where it is supposed to be and I take 5,000 units of vitamin D3 daily. When I start the Prolia, from what I have read, I will have to start taking Calcium also.

Doctor is going to do a D3 level at some point in time but I think the rhuemy did include a Ca in my last labs. He told me they would call if anything was abnormal. No call. I see him the day before Thanksgiving.

@Latestarter, do you do sinus irrigation? I do it every evening. Totally unpleasant but like you I have the sinuses from hades and have to throw the whole medicine cabinet at them to get some relief. The irrigations do help. As to Flonase inhalers.I also highly recommend zyrtec and if you haven't tried it yet, Singulair tablets. The latter are RX only but they handle a broad number of sinus related allergies along with system related reactions and congestion. I am allergic to just about everything in the environment along with tree nuts and sinus surgery would only last about 4-5 years before having to be redone so I avoid it like the plague.

I've lived with bad sinuses since 1983 and feel great empathic sympathy for those who are in the same boat.
