The Old Folks Home

NSAI drugs may also potentiate bleeding, so not always a great choice right around surgery, but can be used later. And Acetaminophen should be used with great caution, especially at higher doses, and not at all with any alcohol.

Balanced pain control can involve all these, plus opioid type medications and Gabapentin. But no mater what, some folks are going to abuse them. The problem for prescribers is that they always get blamed, and sometimes sued, even when people know what they are doing.

We had smoke and ash here today from the Camp fire in Paradise.

It is devastating!

That is so sad! Glad you are safe though, Ron.

Thanks Dr. Came by and told dh he could eat. I told him to order soup and crackers and ice cream. Then this evening he can eat real food if this does not hurt him. Dr. Told us at 11 am. The nurse said she never saw him. But she took over 2 hours to let dh order so e food.
Waiting on it. Should be here any minute now. I hope.

How long is the hospital stay going to be?

Woke up here to our first actual white stuff on grass only - some years we don't get that till mid December. House is really cold though, I try to cut back on heat to lower the gas bill . I am wearing heavy jeans with fleece lining, heavy flannel shirt with fleece lining and my Mad Bomber hat. Think I am going upstairs for a a third layer.
Same here. Wearing a hat even in bed.

This morning at 10ish. See the sunrise in the window?

The 1 muscovy is sitting on the swallow house. The top windows and door is the master bedroom. Bottom window is the school room.

@chickadoodles, isn't being in the hospital fun......not. I remember it taking 3 hours from seeing the doctor to getting my mom discharged and out the door. If they have the order in hand, they can to their floor refrigerator and give him jello, pudding or ice cream. They also keep soda crackers on the floor. We used to even keep peanut butter and cheese sandwiches on hand in case somebody got hungry.

Well said @1muttsfan. INSAIDS like Ibuprofen (so popular with competitive cyclists that they call it vitamin I and routinely take 3 or 4 before they race) can also raise your risk of heart attack.

Yep, unfortunately we live in a sue happy society. Back in the 70s worked for a GP who got sued because he referred a patient to a surgeon and something went wrong during the surgery. Sad huh?

Welcome to the club, Penny. What's that old Chinese prayer? May you live in interesting times.
