The Old Folks Home

I learned years ago that if I know what I'm looking for and I want to get it cheap as far as building materials are concerned, go to Menard's.

If I don't know exactly what I want and need advice that won't lead me wrong, I go to Home Depot. Or the local mom and pop hardware store.
No Menard's here. Knowledge at big box stores is catch as catch can. One of the guys at Lowes is a licensed plumber and electrician. He knows his stuff in his departments. So do the guys who own AND run the local hardware store. Otherwise, hardware stores are also "get lucky". Often the employees are HS grads who have no experience outside whatever they have done themselves. Others are "retired" carpenters, plumbers etc. Those trades are hard on one's body.

Yes, it rained pretty much all day again. River is way up!
AGAIN!

That's the truth Cap. When my son was still small enough for me to carry around we used to dance. I'd sing Shall we Dance, then "cha cha cha" with exaggerated movements and he would laugh and loved it. He claims he still remembers that. Still smile when I think of that.
Is he married? If not, if and when he gets married, you can sing that during the groom-mother dance.

Babies are God's opinion that the world should go on. Beautiful little one, Cynthia.

Morning all. Cloudy here this morning but not as cold. Doing a town run to pickup Thanksgiving goodies and hopefully a really FREE turkey. Saw a new C&R ad it said that now the turkeys are free with 9000 store points....somebody must have thrown a fit. Good on them!

Calling for snow tomorrow and tomorrow night and I never go to the store on Thanksgiving week. Too many frantic shoppers out there with glazed over eyes and panicked looks on their faces.

Good to hear that you aren't getting a lot of rain like others are, clue.

Cap, stay safe.

Today is NOT starting out too good. I opened the sliders, and I'm not sure what's going on with the alignment, but the main one is not syncing up so I can close, and lock it. I got coffee, only to discover Dd used the last of my half and half. That means I have to trek up to the little store to get a quart of it, to hold me until I get to the grocery store. Of COURSE it would happen on the first morning that it got cold out. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!
