The Old Folks Home

Deb,I agree, don't dwell on it. Just get back on track. You can do it. Every person who has ever been on a strick diet sooner or later falls off the wagon. I went for two weeks and didn't loose an ounce. Didn't watch my serving sizes, which has been my big key to success, didn't watch my carb intake and attacked a bag of Butterfinger mini bars with relish one day while DH and I were on the road. GOD THEY WERE DELICIOUS! I felt so guilty afterwards. Not only is sugar counter productive to weight loss but it can also cause any one of my joint diseases to flare.

But I haven't touched anything like that since, I 'm back on my measured servings and have settled with a half a cup of low fat ice cream twice a week. My weight was down two pounds this week. I figure if I go over the wall once a year or so and stay on the low inflammation diet the rest of the time I'm doing pretty darned good.

You've still lost quite a bit of weight and that is a lot to be proud of!:hugs:hugs

Got my turkey thawed enough to hack in half. One half in the fridge waiting to be popped into the oven on Thursday and the other half back in the freezer. A bag of turkey bits will be boiled for the dogs which they will share with the cats and chickens since I don't do giblet gravy. Nothing goes to waste.

Deb, win the war, not the battle. Be proud of what you've already done and don't focus on the negative.

:hugs
Yep you are right.... I keep having to remind myself that I used to be 380

and when I get into the beginnings of passing muster for Gastric sleeve surgery I will be on a liquid diet ....

psychology and psychiatry hopefully will teach me how to give up on emotional eating... Big one for me.

I'm not afraid to ask dumb questions - what is keto??
Keto is short for Ketogenesis... Meaning you put your body into Ketosis because you deprive it of Carbs... Not all but enough that it chooses to use your body fat for energy... Unfortunately as a type two Diabetic I need thirty grams of carbs every meal to function. Which is three to four times as much as is the goal for Keto.

I was doomed to fail....

It was the type of diet that did it not will power!

You have a smart Dr. there. Starvation or diets that cut out a food group, meaning that they are not balanced are not the way to go.
Yep I know... But if you are going to go unbalanced it has proven to be effective for several medical conditions... Just not me. LOL...

Statistics are not on the side of this or any diet like it. Only a couple of percent keep the weight off for more than a year.

Gastric bypass has a very high success rates! You will do very well with it
