It sounds like a very busy but fun Holiday!Got home about 8:30 tonight from getting DIL and Grandson (son is a paramedic and works today, tomorrow and Friday - they live 2 1/2 hour from us, have one car) so they could spend Thanksgiving with us. Kid finally went to bed about 10:30 (He'll be 2 in Dec.), so I could get my pie crusts made. I will be making 2 apple pies for tomorrow, plus cheesy potatoes at my brother-in-law's request. We'll be joining my sister inlaw and her husband, one of her 4 kids and his family and other members of her church for Thanksgiving at her church. My mom and step-dad will be there too. Sounds like there will be about 50 or so people at this meal. Should be interesting. I'm just so happy to have that little guy and his mama her with us. Better than them spending the day at home.
Still in the single digits here, but thankful for wood and pellet stoves and oil heat that keep me warm. Thankful for so much, including good friends (both virtual and in person), relatively good health, humor, travel and solitude when I need it. Not so thankful for the sore muscles today that reminded me I'm not a spring chicken and wailing on the pull cord of the snowblower for a half hour straight yesterday probably wasn't a good idea. Did you know that apparently we have these little muscles that run down the sides of our neck that are apparently involved in pull-cord business? I can take my shoulders and back aching, but trying to move my head today is a new adventure in pain. BF did get the blower working last night, he added some gas additive to the tank which worked.
It's BF's moms first thanksgiving without her husband. That first year is the worst, because it's a first for everything. It does get easier after that. She's heading here in a bit with the kids and BF's sister. Hopefully we'll be able to give her some joy today.
And in the interim, I'm putting a quilt on the long arm. Probably won't be able to start stitching it today, but at least it'll be there for me on Saturday. It's BF's weekend to work, so that means I can sew without any guilt for being antisocial!
I hope all of you have a nice day, whether you're spending it alone or with family or friends.
Did they weigh you before or after removing 5 pounds of blood?Good news. Down to 129,9 pounds on the hospital scale, afternoon weight and fully dressed. Doctor told me my weight was perfect EAT! So I did.
RA definitely not fun, don't know about gouty arthritis though.I hope it is gouty arthritis. I can live with that a whole lot better and easier than RA!
You know, I really doubt anyone has ever cheered gout before!@microchick, here's to gout.![]()
And, apparently, neither is The Princess. Have a good visit with the family! We are also bringing pumpkin and peach pies - purchased as I am not much of a baker
Not always easy to do but way better for everyone's health.Have to avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup in it.
Is this the first time it was run this year? Maybe the carb got lacquered with gas sitting in it all summer. Sorry you had to work on it to no avail and eventual pain!BF did get the blower working last night, he added some gas additive to the tank which worked.
I hope so too, yes it will be hard for her to not be thinking of her husband. Your BF as well. She's heading here in a bit with the kids and BF's sister. Hopefully we'll be able to give her some joy today.
