Took the dog for a walk a little bit ago. My driveway should be declared a national disaster area. I have to drive to work with BF tomorrow, I'm guessing I'll be able to get him to drive. I'll have to take an Imodium before we go.
Need a laugh? I'm a moron. When I loaded the quilt onto the frame on Friday after work I guess I wasn't paying attention. To be honest, the backing has been put together for a couple months, but I was not excited about stitching this quilt because it was a lot of straight lines, which is really difficult to do well on my regular sit down machine. Well, I was super excited to do it now that I have the longarm, so that's the first quilt I wanted to do. Also, I always piece the backing so that the seam goes vertical, but apparently months ago when I pieced this one I decided to do the seam horizontal for some reason.
Cue today... I've stitched through 2/3 of the quilt and I think I'm doing great and I go to advance it to work the next row and... I see this

That pink busy upside down fabric is the backing. Notice it ends and the quilt top continues.
Crap!
I take it off the frame and

Yup, I'm a moron.
So I carefully measure and cut the sides off and then realize the backing fabric is directional, so I have to do even more piecing and math.
But I get it done, not awful (considering the disaster it was) and get it back on the frame and finish stitching.
If you look closely and/or take a photograph of the entire backing, you can tell it's fubar. But if you don't look too closely at it, it passes muster.
