I remember when Elaine wanted to buy a Chocolate Bobka. They only had one and she found a long blond hair in it. So an argument ensued. I don't even know what a bobka is.

So... eldest had to fly back up today.

He had had an ID on the flight down to see us..... no longer had one in his wallet.



Didn't know until he was checking in for the flight. They let him on when Spouse begged. Spouse had kid's SS card, kid had his student ID.

5 minutes after that he tried to lose his boarding pass.

Kid then called, asked me to see if I saw his ID somewhere.... so I could run it down to him......

I had the rest of the kids start looking... then had a thought... called kid back... asked him if he had forgotten his contacts and retainer. 7 THOUSAND dollar teeth I tell ya. And not being able to see would have been an issue... yep.... he had forgotten both.

Took us a couple minutes to find them... then I zoomed down as safely as I could.... blasted weather... been rainy so was now icy, but luckily not too bad, so I could still go pretty fast...

Got there, parked fast, ran in, saw him in line, only 2 people ahead of him.

Spouse saw me running up and asked "what are you doing here?"

I ran up to eldest kid and said "here ya are" he started to reach for the stuff and I said "don't you dare, open your carry on... they go directly into the carry on"

We did that. I kissed the kid, told him I still loved him, and not to worry, by the time he came back home Spouse would no longer be angry.



By the way, the week before coming down for Thanksgiving he lost his debit card. He canceled it, ordered a new one, had hoped it would show up at the house before he went back to college... no such luck. (He has no mail at college) So, he has no debit card. I asked him if he had enough money (laundry is 5 bucks for a single load), and he said he had plenty.

At the airport... since they were searching in his wallet to try to find the ID, spouse saw that he had only 30 bucks! 30 bucks to last him until Christmas! He won't be able to get any more money with zero ID and zero debit card. It will take him 25 bucks to get a cab from the airport to his dorm.

He said he had 40 more dollars that he left in his room.

That kid!

BTW, spouse had 80 bucks..... so handed that over.

Not bad shape for the shape I'm in! Currently providing job security to the lab techs at the local hospital as they try to track down the exact type of arthritis I have besides Osteo and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Plus I'm still coasting on the latest steroid injection I got so I'm feeling pretty darned good at the moment.

How about you JD?

DH and I just went out in the blizzard for our traditional walk in the dark and hope you don't fall in a ravine hike. Looks like we have about 6 inches of snow so far with some foot plus drifts and it's still blowing and snowing. We walked north of the house to the pasture edge where we could still see the house lights clearly. Our snow dog Buck came along with us having the time of his life.

Came in and ordered more fabric! This is addicting!

I got rid of half my fabric when we moved, now i am rebuilding my stash.

Some of my favorite books. Still want to read her autobiography that came out not long ago.

My Fifth grade teacher read them to us. It was the best thing about the fifth grade

The way things go out there, ron, you'd better be careful what you say. You could wake up in the morning with a foot of snow on the ground!

It might even out the summer though. The last several years have been 3 degrees higher than average during the summer.

Looks like the next season of Frontier is now on Netflix.

We watched the first episode of the new season on Friday. We will get to the rest over the next couple of weeks.

Blizzard is on here! Snow is heavy and horizontal at times during wind gusts.

Apparently you are planning on sharing with us on Tue and Wed. Might really screw up DD2 and me getting home on Wed. At least NYC will be clear so we would be stuck at JFK rather than not able to get there.

Water or methods of heating it is that scarce? DD2's was, I think, $1/load. DD1 will be starting at Mt. Allison in January, laundry is free

Um reading to the class in 5th grade? Y'all a bit slow in your school? I would think, at best, the students would take turns reading the books aloud to the class.

No snow, no cold weather, no blizzards here except at Dairy Queen. DQ has the best kind of blizzards.
