Federal holidays mean skeleton crew. One person works the 24 hours. Someone volunteered to take Monday. I took Tuesday. We aren't closed, but the outpatient clinics are.

A 24 hour shift!!! People's brains and bodies do not work well that way. And those clinics are likely going to be closed for quite some time given what I've heard. Potentially until next year.

Why do people run around when they are sick?

Because, they are selfish, gotta get that Christmas shopping done. Don't care how many people get sick in the process.

Some government is funded differently .ours is. A few department like IT isn funded but we will not be furloughed
He declared today a holiday to give us a 4 day weekend although obviously one of us still has to work .

I've had enough holiday and got it all squared away and plan to crawl under covers & stay there. Just too pooped to do much else. My son & brother went out to meet relatives at a hotsy totsy restaurant- that's not me. Something else going on later today and another invitation on Christmas. I'm not a social butterfly. One on one is plenty for me.

I hear ya, Drumstick. I'm just as glad that it is just me and DH for the holidays.

Feel some better this morning. Still coughing a lot. Thankfully DH has a lot of inhalers on hand thanks to his asthma so I've been puffing away on them. Yes, both the MTX and the Prolia have adverse effects on a person's immune system so I have a double whammy to deal with.

24 hour shifts? Nope no way. I've done 16s and that was sheer Hades. If they told me I had to do a triple, I'd just laugh at them and ask them if there was a bed available because after 16 hours that is where they would find me.

Merry Christmas Eve all.

Woke up in my recliner this morning (acid reflux last night) to a nice bright rising sun. Not a cloud in the sky. Was in the mid 30s last night so a hard frost but it's all melting away and there's not even a breeze. So you can stand in the sun and it's nice and warm, like a spring morning. 43° outside and heat inside set to 66° and it feels warmer outside than inside... Might have to change into shorts, take off the T shirt and go sit in the sun with a book and the goats

Speaking of which and all that, aren't the days getting longer?! Despite that, I anticipate colder wetter days in the future before spring arrives...
