The Old Folks Home

I'd like to visit PA someday and do a roots tour as Mom's side of the family hailed from Berks County (at least according to the German family fraktur.) My great grandad immigrated to CA after serving (sort of) in the Civil War and changed the spelling of his last name, thusly confounding all trying to do ancestral geneology.

Welcome, Sharron!
My favorite posse dog was a schipperke. Sparkie was my sidekick for nearly 17 years. They live *forever* I'd love to get another -- but kind of afraid the dog would outlive me -- and name it Lollie. "The good schipp Lollie pup."
my husbands first schipperke he found by accident at a poultry swap, he had been looking for months for a dog that would be his buddy, at the time we knew nothing about schipperkes , hooch was one of the best dogs we ever had but very, very protective of us, we lost him when he was seven yrs old due to liver cancer, husband and i cried for weeks afterwards when our vet helped him cross over, we waited for 6 months and then went looking for another, buddy loves my husband as much as hooch did but he's not like hooch at all but we love him but he will be the last schipperke for us
