Thanks! It was BYC that convinced me that us grownups can still build, pour concrete, tend livestock and get into all sorts of trouble.

Where bouts do you hang your hat yes I have three coops two we built one built for us

Currently in Portland, Oregon but near the end of this year we're moving to Lakeside to a (hopefully) acre lot where we will plop down a double-wide and starting raising layers and roasters. A lot more than that though, we are keen gardeners and fishers. Planning on canning and baking and all sorts from crazy.

Dh got me my very own "Crazy Chicken Lady" Barbie for Christmas. I guess I earned it. When I got my new cockerel, he went into a huge dog crate on the screened in back porch. I didn't want the Christmas lights out there bothering him at night, so I unplugged them. Crazy Chicken Lady strikes again!

Getaclue, have you thought of blindfolding the rooster, that might work.

Unplugging the lights out there worked just fine. I didn't unplug all the rest of them, just those on the porch.

Happy January 2 everyone. So the holidays are finally over. We all survived. Now the long cold sets in here but in the back of my mind are the words 'only two more months after January till spring!'
