deb, if you still want to diet, didn't you say you had an ADA cookbook? A lot of those recipes are delicious, pretty easy to make, and you can still lose the weight while maintaining correct sugar levels. You do have to pay a bit more attention to portion sizes, but it's better for diabetics to eat more frequent smaller meals, and snacks, than to focus on 3 main meals, and fewer snacks.
