The Old Folks Home

getting volunteers to do everything but drive the buses.

Good luck to her with that! My parents have delivered for Meals on Wheels for years. In addition to their regularly scheduled deliveries, several times a month they have filled in for someone else. Finding volunteers that are reliable and dedicated can be tricky, and if you do anything at all that might tick them off, they leave.

Morning everyone. Well, NOAA bombed again. They were calling for 4-8 inches of snow here over the weekend starting last night late and going into today. Well, Weather.gov changed that amount two or three times, Weather.com said 3-5 inches and Accuweather.com said 2-4 or maybe 3-5 inches.

We got not quite an inch of snow and it will probably be gone by tomorrow as the temps are slowly creeping up above freezing.

Fine with me. I wanted 0 snow.....and spring. Like NOW!

JD I'm so sorry to hear about the tangled mess you are dealing with. I had the same thing happen where I used to work when the previous owners of the facility went belly up. They swore they had money to pay the nurses but I turned into the spokes person for the nursing staff and told them if our paychecks didn't clear, we were not going to be there the day after payday. That got their attention. I had my bank call their bank and confirm that the money to pay the nurses was in the account and it was.

Still, no job is worth what you are going through. There is always work to be found if a person is willing. I'm sure you will find something better and with less stress.

In the western IL town where we had our office they used the 'volunteer' method for delivering the meals to shut ins. The local Rotary, where DH was a member did it. He remembers passing the meals to people, asking them if they were okay and moving on to the next address.. He said the system worked for a small town of 3000 people.

Still an audit on your facility would be an interesting thing to see happen. 360,000 dollars is a lot of money.
Glad you didn't get all that snow! We got ice pellets, under an inch as well.
I am super excited since i just sold 45 quail!:weeGot $200. That emptied out the lean-to, and 4 other cages! And a guy is supposed to come pick up the last 3 guineas tonight. :clapSo that frees up that end of the hoop coop for my young polish. They are going to love running on the dirt!

200$!:highfive::thThat rocks! There be money in them thar quails!

I was wondering about Perchie the other day also. Has anybody heard from Misti? She was hoping to be back on line by the first of the year. Haven't seen her around so afraid that things are still not going well fo her.

Last time i talked to her she was ok, but it has been a while. Maybe i will call her.

I love being Grandma. Spoil them and send them home!
My 5th grandchild is due late April!
Being a Grandma is the best! You can look at them, play with them, and give them back when you're done or they smell funny. I love it!
Hello all. Spring is springing up here.
How's everyone doing?
Spring? What is this "spring" of which you speak?
