The Old Folks Home

Tonight, we did something totally different with the kids. After their bath, instead of watching tv, before bed, I put on the original War of the Worlds radio broadcast for the kids. I explained that back in the day, there were no tvs, so people listened to the radio for music, news, and radio shows. I further explained that even today, in the event of an emergency, we had a radio, since there probably would be no computers, tablets, cell phones, tv, etc., and we would stay updated about the emergency, by listening to the radio. During the broadcast, the kids began asking if it was real. We paused to explain, that is was not real, but a radio show. After the broadcast, we told them about the havoc it created. It was really fun for everyone.

Made a dutch apple pie had extra apple seasoned and overfilled the crust so cooked them in a skillet little bit of crunch left that with whipped cream and some cheese sprinkled tonight after dinner pie will wait till a day or so later
Yum!

Well, hubby is doing well in one area, not so well in another. Went for his physical today. Had had lab work done, found out that he is in stage 3 kidney failure. What? Dr. said it had been going down for a while. Just had my husband start seeing this guy. My Dr. His retired. Never a word about his kidneys.

Dang all! So sorry for the bad news. :hugs

Now that you know... can it be reversed at all?

No dialysis yet. I have a sister that I am guardian of.... mentally handicapped. She is on the last stage of kidney failure...5. So, when the dr. told us, I said what? My sister had the fishula done, now hoping she can hold out until it's ready to use. If not, they will put the port in her neck to start dialysis. My husband is at 60...needs to be under 30, and into stage 4 before they start dialysis. Dr. will do labs every few months. His had been going slow, my sis..fast! She went through a drowning a few years back..for real..was brought back by a hero of a woman that happened to be where this happened. The people that worked at her place...didn't do things right. Anyway, no reverse, but can help slow it down. Of course, healthy lifestyle. Diet.. excersize. He is good at excerising..good diet..could be better, but his weight is great. Thank you for the prayers, I'll always take them.
