In the garden it's BT, NEEM, Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew (a bacteria found in rum that works like BT), blood meal, copious amounts of mushroom compost, and Rabbit Scram. I figure there's a percentage that's to be lost to pests, weather and wind, and thusly I overplant what I need. If there's extra, it's a bonus bounty to share.
Found a very small rabbit in my veggie compound this morning, about the size of a tennis ball with a pingpong ball-sized head. I spotted his tracks earlier. No idea how it got there and for all I know it might've been born there as there's a woodpile and under the broody shack. We had a yard bunny last year that didn't damage anything (yay!), but the squirrels wreaked havoc on the apricot trees. Now I have wads of apricot seedlings sprouting up in the raised beds where all the pits were buried. And, yes, they are wads and wads of about 10-15 seedlings per. Wretched squirrels.
