The Old Folks Home

Does he fix up old post and beam houses by any chance?
Sorry about his mom, hope she recovers well.

He loves old post and beam houses. But he has so much work . . . and with me retiring, he is jealous and doesn't really want to work any more! I'm older, so I'm going for it.

:lau OMG

And awww you’re not old!!

Although not to make you feel more old but I’m 25 hahah probably the youngest in here :lau although I still sometimes feel old haha
I thought I was the youngest at 43
I think 25 was the worst for me, realizing I was a quarter century...
The milestones of 16,18,21, long behind you, took forever...!
And then a quarter century..., goes fast after that , really fast. Yrs just blow by like nothing. Enjoy it. Doesn't take long and you'll start tthinking/planning for retirement..
Reminds me of a song

I hope you have a lot of pictures!

Did you start a coop build article in the articles section?

I have some pictures. And I did start a coop build article! I'm not sure how to find it . . . despite my nonstop posting, I'm still a bit new around here. Is it on the member pages?

ETA: Why yes, just go to my profile and click on the link! [she suggests innocently]

This afternoon my middle grand (5) asked her mother if she was older than me. She started to say no, when I told the child YES....Her mother is over 30, and I'm only 25. My daughter blinked, and tried to correct it, but I was adamant, and let my grand know that her mother was embarrassed because she is so old, and her grandmother is so young. This went on for about 30 minutes. Eventually my grandson (8) came out, and told his sister that their mommy was younger than grandma. She believed him. Dang it.

Hello, all you old folks!

I just stumbled across this thread. I'm retiring next week and turning 66 next month, so I figured I'd stop by and see what excitement everybody is getting up to.

I got chicks in April as my retirement project. So far, the project has been a big one for DH, who vetoed every coop I tried to buy and insisted that, against his will, he is building it himself.

He's almost done, grumbling all the way.

I have 2 buff orps (Big Bird and Little Bird), a Black Australorp (currently named Blackbird, as she was named "White Butt" early on by DH, but is completely black now. I warned him.), and a GL Wyandotte named Callie. They keep me laughing. They are 8 weeks and can't wait for their coop to be finished!

My other retirement plans include gardening (flowers and vegetables) and cleaning up the mess of a too-busy life (e.g., cartons and cartons of paperwork and - stuff). I still have some freelance work I can do, but I'm tempted to finish what I have and quit.

So, do I qualify? Can I join you? :fl :gig
Please do! Welcome!
