Those high desert mountain offer some protection don't they?
I am physically in Santee. We felt the Northridge quake but it was miles deep.

This one was only a few miles deep..... very shallow they shake harder.... but there isnt as much energy in them. Lots of local after shocks though.

I was in a A frame on a lake when we had the large one my business was different downtown Auburn my one business was in these warehouses overhead door flew up i had a litter of tervuren there X-pens rested with the overhead door cooling the place some the back lot was rolling made a big bang dragging the pens up scared one pup so bad she became bang shy
 
Grandma and I had a blow out today.... I was Crying big time and she didnt have a clue... She tried to comfort me but still coulnt hear what I was saying.... the whole reason I was crying in the firstplac3e.... any way it was started by it.

I havent cried since I had to have my dog put down. Havent cried for family in about thirty years.... not even for dad. Or for myself... I think I lumped it all in one

By the time mom got here we were done. But I was hyperventilating. Never did that before. took me about two hours to recover.....
