The Old Folks Home

Looks like you have found a great place for her .. We had to take Grandma when she was 89 she had gone senile but broke her hip going out in the winter saying she had to get my brother and I from the car.. We where both grown I lived in Alaska at the time and my brother was a long haul trucker.. The family found one where Grandma had lived her life in Elmwood Wisconsin

Depends on the state where you live's definition of safe and sane, Ron. BINGO! You just discovered one of the reasons we LOVE Missouri and live here. One year we bought a big mortar display and shot it off. Got it on the July 4th clearance sale at the local fireworks store. Amazing! Is all I can say. They looked like the picture below....without the 'I love Fireworks' emoji that is.

So much fun to do them on your own. Missouri wants people to use their common sense and practice safe handling of fireworks. You can't open a news paper without seeing an article about it. We always follow strict safety precautions including keeping a bucket of water and a sprayer handy. So far, we still have all our fingers and toes.
It is much greener in Missouri too!

Remember, we get no rain from may to October.

Edited: Mortars would not be used by reasonable people here. They are sort of ok with professionals at Cities. There are not many of those either any more

@perchie.girl, I understand. Ran into that when I was working. People we took care of would die and one day the aids asked us how we dealt with it without crying. We explained to them that we had to be strong for the families and because we were medical professionals. But we paid a price for that strength. Eventually it would catch up with us, something would trigger a downpour of tears and sobbing. Something like hitting a bird with our car or watching a sad movie. Then we would cry our hearts out in a great catharsis, get ourselves together and carry on.

Don't worry. You are normal. Especially after going through your surgery and all the stress involved.

@Peep_Show, thank you for sharing your parade pics. So pretty. No parade's that I know of around us so much appreciated.

thanks Micro.... never had so much turmoil.... but I totally understand the whole Catharsis thing.... Normally I store it in my shoulders and back.... but they were already full.... Wham...

Now I feel better all round. Especially after the hyper ventilation was done.

Be glad to send you some precip, Ron. It's been trying to rain here off and on all afternoon. Storms form then dissipate before they reach us. Fine by me. Of course you can keep the earthquakes. We have enough to worry about with the New Madrid Fault nearby.

Trust me, there are a lot of 'good old boys' here who shouldn't be allowed to play with matches let alone mortars. A bunch of them rip up and down our gravel road in 4 wheelers.....with little kids in the passenger seat and no seat belts!:rantOr better yet, little kids driving the 4 wheelers.....wide open.:rant:rantI'm sure one of these days we will be going to the aid of one that has rolled over....and find a little kid hurt or worse underneath. :hitYou guys don't have the market cornered on 'unreasonable people'. AKA 13 Carat Morons.
