The Old Folks Home

Oh, and last time I went there I was putting stuff in the back of the truck and a mouse came out of the bag of shavings I just bought and jumped. Landed on me! I am not scared of mice, but I don't want a possibly disease carrying wild creature on me suddenly!

And I saw 2 running around the store today! Imagine how many there are!

:sick

I wouldn’t trust the feed from that place either. If the mice are in the shavings as well as running around, think of everything they’re eating and into! :sick

I buy my feed at the local MFA (Missouri Farmers Association). Excellent quality and price. Plus the place is immaculately clean. If I'm in a rush I'll get ADM feed at one of the local Amish feed stores and even there, they have cats around that keep the mice under control.

It's amazing that they haven't noticed that they have a problem with rodents. Or they have noticed and just don't give a darn.

I woke up to no rain and 68 degrees. Temps in the 70s for the next week. What a relief. I can get some outdoor projects worked on like painting the deck and working on the brick walk that we are installing near the deck stairs. I doubt if the hot weather is over but it is nice not to have the AC running and be able to have the windows open to air out the house.

Yeah, I'd be upset, and complaining about that. I don't expect to pay good money for contaminated bedding. They know feed will attract bugs and rodents.

Okay, almost 24 hours without a post? I know a lot of us are a bit long in the tooth, or beak but helllllooooooo. Did everybody check into a home? Buy the farm? Kick the bucket? Push up daisies?

Anyway. Saw the pain specialist today. I'm broken. Can't be fixed. But with the wonders of modern technology they can give me relief. All it takes is injecting anesthetic into my facet joints then keeping their fingers crossed that it helps but basically I'm just slowly toddling down a path that is progressive and destructive. I told them I would decide if to proceed after talking to my PCP next week.

Oh and I can only lift 15-20 pounds. CARP! No more dirt bike riding. No more construction. No more wrestling with 200 pound rounds of wood. Did I say CARP!? If not......CARP! I told DH on the drive home that if it didn't risk having a gout flare I could sure use an adult beverage or 6. Instead I stopped at the store and bought a bag of M&Ms. They were delicious.

So come on! Where is everybody?
:hugs

That is not good news! I hope someone can find a way to help. Is there a teaching hospital you can go to?

Yesterday was not a great day, and today hasn't started off well either.

I gave Dr my credit card to use yesterday, and she lost it. It's been cancelled, and I should get another in about a week. Frontier FiOS internet went down across a pretty large portion of the state last night. At 3 am, TV and phones went down too. We are still without all 3 services.

I have plenty of DVD's to watch, and my tablet connects through the data plan, so we're not too bad off, but it's not what we've become accustomed to.
