The Old Folks Home

I hope things get back to normal soon Clue!

Did I say CARP!? If not......CARP!
Um, yes and you can say it a dozen more times!!! That sucks. Hopefully some relief comes your way. DH might have to replace the logging wench with a logging winch sad as that would be.

It has more rust than he was led to believe but his old one is up to 140,000 miles or something like that.
140K? Almost new! DW's car has 220K on it.

Or they have noticed and just don't give a darn.
Bingo! I bet several have noticed and don't want to deal with it so they hope someone else will.

My small coop is empty right now and sealed up until I can get it cleaned. Last night I peeked in the window and saw a mouse party going on so I tossed in a couple of chunks of bait and sealed it back up.

So far there are 5 dead mice to be accounted for.

Yep, I'm a party pooper!

Spent this morning working on replacing and adjusting said sprinkler parts in the lawn. No more geysers, but I am thoroughly soaked. Nothing like a shot of strong spray up your shorts!

Did one last hatch for the year and it was dismal, 9 of 18 eggs producing viable chicks. Perhaps the egg quality suffered with the heatwave? Could Stew the Roo have infertile roo goo? Perhaps it was too warm to mate? I dunno. But the client is happy and the chicks will be off to their new home soon so I can pack and store the equipment.

Just uber-busy here. Veggie compound and orchard in full swing and requiring more time than I have to give.

Whoa @Peep_Show you and @microchick have been busy as heck I been playing with a new sourdough from scratch I had pet mice as a kid but darn do not leave anything out that would draw them and would be inclined to drop off a few feral cats

My FIOS is back up. :wee We have internet, tv, and land line phones now.

Early this afternoon, the school called. Dd was to go pick up my middle granddaughter. She fell from the monkey bars, and sprained her wrist. When she got home, I told Dd to take her to the ER. Yes, she could move her wrist, yes it was probably sprained, but something just didn't look right to me. Maybe a torn muscle, ligament, tendon. I didn't know what, but it just didn't look quite right.

Dd took her to the ER. They checked it over, and it was just sprained. The ER doctor ordered X-rays just to be on the safe side. They were finishing up with the X-rays, when the tech turned her hand a certain way, she yelped in pain. The tech realized what bone might be damaged, and re-did the X-rays at a different angle, highlighting a certain teeny tiny, curved bone. Yes, it's broken. From what they were saying, the bone bent so far, before breaking, that it needs to straighten back into position some to heal properly, or they're going to have to go in to fix it surgically.

One of my concerns was, when the school nurse sent her home, they didn't give my daughter an incident report. I told her to get an incident report tomorrow.

It is a good thing that you insisted on getting an x-ray!

Mamas KNOW when something just isn't "right." I can't speak for fathers, except my own and he never realized when anything was wrong, including with himself.

My mom fell on ice at store parking lot. I said I would have them call an ambulance. My mother had fits about that. So instead my father and another man grabbed her by the arms and pulled her up fast into a standing position. Her eyes and face showed the horrible pain she was in. But they were busy chatting and didn't care. They lugged her to the car and shoved her inside. Neither man paid the slightest attention to her and, practically hugged each other when they separated.

Mom always refused medical care. She got dumped in bed and my father went downstairs to catch his never ending list of tv shows. That was so long ago that I can't remember if she ever went to a DR. I'm guessing she just mentally added it to many
other physical difficulties she had.
