The Old Folks Home

I am I had a Cardiologist appointment last week and she took me off all my Blood pressure meds except one that is still at half a dose. One I had been on for a very long time... Hydrochlorothiazide....

My weight loss has moved to a more sedentary pace but I am now solidly in the two hundreds at 297. Oh and I did some adjusting on my own. Gabapenton for me is three 100 Mg Capsules a day. I was already taking two at night. Nerve pain from Diabetes will be with me forever. But my dizzy ness was getting worse and really causeing me fear and depression.

So I gave it a week and went off my morning dose. From DAY 1 my balance was almost normal... and only got better as the week went by.

My stamina isnt there but one thing at a time.

We did a vet shot clinic from the car. I liked it a lot better than standing in the line with the cats at the pet store.
CVS at Target sounds like a good option this years since they give a rebate with the shot.
Drs. office for us, free, good ins.

Really enjoyed seeing Ma & Pa Kettle - we used to watch a lot when we were kids.

Isn't it funny how our old shows didn't need nudity, profanity, questionable morals to appeal to us.? I'd rather see them again and again and ... I don't watch modern TV at all.

I wish everyone that should have a flu shot would PLEASE get them. Protect yourself, your family and friends by doing so. Ask them to do the same. I think at our Walgreens you can buy a gift certificate for a flu shot, for someone else. I know it would be wasted effort & $ - my son won't get shots. What's a mother to do? I bet his GF could talk him into it.
Asthmatic kid is getting one on Thursday. At the doctor's office they were all secretive about it... they only got some in... just enough for those that really need it.... so they didn't want a rush of people....

But my kid qualifies as needing one.....

I am looking forward to episode 3 on it here tonight

So loving Ken Burns' "Country Music"! Even DH is tapping his toe along to it.

I attended a business convention in Nashville (circa 2006) and went to the Grand Ol' Opry one night for the show and taping (complete with all the Martha White Flour ads) and feel very privileged to have seen Little Jimmy Dickens, Porter Wagner, Roy Clark and other country music legends who have since passed on. The Country Music Museum downtown was a treat, too. They had an exhibition of Nudie's costumes and several were exquisite with masses of embroidery and pounds of sequins and rhinestones...probably why the C/W singers didn't jump around on stage too much and were pretty much stationary. Didn't care much for the city iteself, but the attractions were great!

Free for the pets?
We have an option for pet insurance at work now but it is kind of expensive

Glad yours gets it!

The little John Deere meeting was held in our front yard this morning. Dh mentioned us seeing the coyote on camera. Another neighbor mentioned that there's a bobcat prowling around this area too. Dd, and I were discussing that we think the bobcat is causing the local wildlife to go outside their normal areas. No matter, I'll be armed if I go out after dark. I'm not too worried about my coop. It's heavy weight welded wire, and I've got a good pen skirt in place too.

the john deere meeting sounds a lot like the pickup meeting at the cattle gate!
