The Old Folks Home

It was fun at the time, if exhausting. But now when that baby (now 30) brings her baby to visit, I’m exhausted and have to rest when they leave! The little one has learned to walk and we have to watch constantly, as our house isn’t fully baby-proof.

There’s a good reason we have our babies when we are a bit younger!

I had my son at 38. When he finally got to full days of school, I could nap but, so much to do. Plus kids wait till grocery store is closed to tell you they need to bring in two dozen cupcakes by morning.:tongue. It just escalates from there.

Not sure how Grandma did it or my cousin Jeannie see Ma was the bread winner so one of them was our caregivers when Ma married Daddy there was advantages to another person he was still a long haul driver but went to the post office from there.. I only had Lori my Daughter she was in Daycare as I worked her Dad was gone 2 weeks in 2 weeks out

That makes total sense!! I think that’s kind of my philosophy with kids too. They are fun to be around temporarily and are very cute but with someone else’s kid you can at least give them back lol I am not sure if I would want one permanently. I am sure it is a lot of work and/or would get old fast haha but then again I do think I want them eventually so idk.

My siblings and I have been guilty of informing parentals of projects due the night before. :lau :hide

That is good your mom had some helpers. I am sure it is a lot of work by yourself.

Good job, Angel! I laughingly told DH today that I half expect to crack an egg and have a chick fall out one of these days. I have one persistent broody that keeps hiding eggs. Usually she has only set on them for a day but you never know......
Crack the eggs into a bowl before using them.

I would not worry so much about a chick coming out but eggs can be bad every so often

Yeah, I have been cracking them into a measuring cup. Got one bad one. Looked okay but it just didn't taste right when I scrambled them. Didn't eat them. Puppies loved them.

Busy afternoon. My two immunizations hit me about noon. You know the song, achy breaky heart? Well it's achy breaky bones and muscles this afternoon.I slept 9 hours last night but I feel more like I slept 2. I had a whole list of things I wanted to tackle today and I've done zip.Oh,I got clothes folded and half put away. Major yippee as I hate doing laundry.

Plus my darling DH bought new his and her computers! His is a Dell, mine is an HP. I'm thrilled. I have been using my tablet while in the family room but half the time it is tied up playing Amazon Prime TV and Movies. Plus it's a bear to use while sitting on the sofa as the battery wants to die whenever I unplug it. I love tablets but so far the three I've owned have been total duds. When the RCA goes, I'm getting a Kindle fire for sure., get an extended warranty and when it inevitably acts up, ship it back to them. He asked me if I wanted an HP or Dell. I've used both so I just told him to surprise me. He got one of each that way we could judge which one was better.

Now you guys all know why young women have babies. One of my aids asked me once if I regretted not having kids and I told her sure, I had always wanted 3 kids but couldn't have any....besides, I was in my late 40s when that question was put to me and I told her that all I wanted now was a good nights sleep without getting woke up for nursing or loaded diapers.

I'm sure they will find a way to to form a puppy ladder and make it up to the Xmas tree.
The boys will hoist their legs on it, and you'll have a down pouring of yellow rain. Forgive me - they are likely reading this. I better go now...

Yeah, we are trying to break Ben from doing his circus act. Namely charging towards us at warp speed and hurling himself in our arms. God only knows how they think this stuff up.

I hear you, Penny. Most people tell me that they hear me talking about my kids and just assumed I had children. I just chuckle and tell them all my kids have 4 feet, hair and tails, except for the chickens of course.

Rain finally arrived. Now I'm debating when I'll get out to lock up the birds. May be brailing my way out in the dark.
